The Certificate in Accounting Technicians Foundation Course is divided into two parts- Foundation Course and Competency level. In addition to this course ICWAI has also introduced computer training course and practical training and hence an overall development of the student is achieved. The Business Mathematics and Statistics paper under the Foundation Course is one of its key subjects.

Total marks and time allotted:

The total marks for the exam is 100 and the total time allotted for the same is 3 hours.

Paper pattern and brief contents:

The paper is divided into six sections according to the varied topics in the syllabus. All the sections have two questions with internal choices in both the questions. The first question is multiple choice type questions. However, along with the correct answer an explanation is also required. The marks for each of the question are written separately on the right hand side of each question.

• Section I is the arithmetic section of 10 marks.
• Section II is the algebra section and is of 15 marks.
• Section III is on mensuration and is of 15 marks.
• Section IV is on Coordinate geometry and is of 10 marks.
• Section V is concerned with calculus and its application.
• The last section i.e. Section VI is a 35 marks section and is about statistical methods.
