The College of Engineering started its journey in the year 1939 with an important view of developing the education of the society. The college is amongst the oldest technical colleges of India and offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the applicants.  The college was started with three degree and diploma courses like civil, mechanical and electrical. For taking admission in these courses, students have to give an entrance exam.

Campus:

Presently the College of Engineering campus is in the lush green space of Thiruvananthapuram in an area of about 125 acres. With all sorts of modern accommodations, the college provides outstanding infrastructure and campus facility which includes library, labs, class rooms and workshop etc. The college also provides residential facility to its students.

Courses Offered:

The college of Engineering offers courses like B.Arch, B.Tech in: Civil (122), Mechanical (121), Electrical (100), Industrial (30), Electronics & communication (60) and Applied Electronics & instrumentation. It also offers part time B.Tech courses to the aspirants.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates must have to pass in the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination with science as their compulsory subjects. The candidates have to get a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. The candidates have to secure high marks in the qualifying exams. For taking admission in to B.Arch course under this college candidates need to pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

Placements:

The college has a separate cell which mainly focuses to give opportunities to the students to join top and reputed firms of India. Some of the top recruiting companies of India who visits this campus are Indian Oil Corporation, L&T Engineering, Mahindra & Mahindra, Motorola, Nest, Nokia-Siemens, Patni, Saint Gobain, Satyam, TCS etc.
