Constable, Railway Protection Force
Railway Protection Force was established under the Government of India. It is an Indian paramilitary force whose sole aim is to protect Indian Railways from all kinds of threats and dangers. The two main duties of the force includes protecting and safegaurding the railway properties and also to do all conducive means for free movement of the railways in India. The main idea behind the estbalishment of the force was to have a responsible body or governing body for the maintenance and security of Indian Railways. The force also aims to act as a bridge between the Railway Police and Railway Administration.
Job Profile:
Railway Protection Force is inviting applications from eligible Male and Female candidates for filling up the posts of Constable in the Pay Band-I. Selected candidates will have to serve Railway Protection Force including Railway Protection Special Force. Number of vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease depending upon the requirement of the Railway Administration.
Eligibility:
The very first eligibility condition for the post is that candidates are required to be a citizen of India. Interested applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age as on 1 July 2011. Candidates should have been born in between 1 July 1986 to 1 July 1993. Relaxation in upper age limit will be admissible to applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories.
Candidates must also have the following physical standards:
Height: 165 cms (Male) and 157cms (Female).
Chest: 80 cms
Educational Qualification:
Candidates are required to have done Matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Candidates failing to have attained the prescribed minimum educational qualification, should not apply for the specified post of Constable in Railway Protection Force. No preference will be given to the candidates with higher educational qualification.

Pay Scale: Candidates will be paid under the Pay Band-I i.e. Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000. Candidates will also get other allowances that are admissible under Railway rules.
Application Fee:
An examination fee of Rs. 40 is need to be submitted by the interested candidates. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/Ex-Serviceman categories are not required to submit any application fee for the post. The application fee should be submitted in the form of a crossed Indian Postal Order or a crossed Bank Draft.
Selection Process:
Recruitment of candidates will be made based on their performance in written examination, physical efficiency test, physical measurement and viva voice test. Only qualified candidates of the written examination will be allowed to sit in the further stages of the recruitment test.
How to apply: The format of application form is available at the official website of Indian Railways. Application forms can be downloaded from the official webiste of Indian Railways. The completely filled in application form is need to be sent to the prescribed address on or before the last date for thr reciept of application. The applications in the prescribed format should be sent to the Nodal Chief Security Commissioner of North Eastern Railway/ Eastern Railway/ East Coast Railway/ Southern Railway.
