CSAT stands for Civil Service aptitude test which is a prestigious examination for the recruitment of gazetted officer in government sector such as IPS, IAS, IFS and IRS. The examination is held every year in the month of May/June. Examination is held in two stages of preliminary and mains.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

Candidates who are citizen of India are eligible for appearing in the examination. Also, education qualification is graduation for the candidates. Age limits is 21-30 years according to the terms of UPSC. However, there is relaxation of age for the SC/ST candidates. Final year student can also apply but they have to produce their passing certificate on time of interview.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Paper is of objective questions and candidates can score full marks in the paper. There is no provision of negative marking in the paper.

Mode of Exam:

Paper follows the conventional type and questions are needed to be answered with ball pen. However there is OMR sheet to mark the answer.

Format:

Paper contains multiple choices type questions and each question is with 4 choices to choose.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of CSAT consist 200 questions in it and each question carries equal marks and there are no substitute for any of the questions. There is no negative marking. Paper contains questions of environmental studies, comprehensive English etc.

Marking:

Each question carries same marks and there is a golden chance to obtain full marks in it.

Schedule:

Paper is schedule to be completed in 2 hours.
