Delhi University is one of the best Universities of the country, and ranks amongst the top universities of India. University of Delhi offers plenty of courses dealing in various trades including micro biology.

Paper description:

The microbiology first year papers have all together 8 subjects which are divided into 2 semesters. The papers in the first semester of the first year are Introduction to Microbial World, which includes study of general terms used in the microbial study and general knowledge regarding microbiology; Bacteriology includes detailed study of the life span and its physical as well as biological features; Chemistry-I, which includes study of topics like Atomic bonding and chemical bonding, atomic structure, ionic equilibrium etc. there is an option of either teaching Technical Writing or computational skills in the 1st semester.

Out of these two, the one that is not taught in the first semester, is then taught under 2nd semester. Other subjects of 2nd semester are Phycology and Mycology in which one is taught about Algae and Fungi in detail. Apart from it, Chemistry-II with detailed study of the organic section; and Mathematics and statistics that deal with the study of various mathematical operations and statistical analysis of the Data, is taught in the 2nd semester of the first year.

Paper pattern:

The paper pattern of the papers is not fixed. The question papers have different format. For instance, few papers have 6 questions with 1 question being compulsory. On the other hand, there are few question papers in which there are sections of questions to choose from. Another pattern of the paper has 5 to 8 questions out of which only 5 are supposed to be answer by the candidates. Sometimes, the paper has internal choices, and sometimes it doesn’t.

Maximum Marks and Time allotted:

The mark of the papers is 100 and the time allotted is generally 3 hours.
