Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam or JCECE is carried out for selecting candidates to various professional courses. Professional courses are offered in streams of Engineering, Medicine, and Agriculture. This competitive exam is carried out to select candidates to government and private institutes situated in the state of Jharkhand.

Exam Pattern of Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam

JCECE is conducted in two stages. Question paper for first stage comprises of questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. There will be 200 questions in this stage and the same has to be completed with in 21/2 hours. Those who qualify first level exam will be short-listed for appearing for the final stage exam.

In final stage, there will be two separate tests for engineering and medical stream. Question papers of engineering section include questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Student’s who would like to pursue medical courses will be asked questions on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Eligibility Criteria for Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam

Engineering Stream - Those who have completed intermediate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects can apply for engineering courses. They must have studied Chemistry or Biology as optional subjects along with these main subjects. Open category candidates require minimum 45% marks (aggregate) to attend the entrance test. Reserved category candidates need to score 40% (aggregate) marks only. No age restrictions are there so as to apply for this exam.

Medical Stream - Candidates who have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects can apply for courses like M.B.B.S, BDS, and BHMS. Aspirants who have pursued HSC course with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry or Biology, can apply for B.Sc Agriculture and B.Sc Forestry courses. Age of candidates who appear for JCECE in medical stream must not be less than 17 years. For B.Sc Agriculture and B.Sc Forestry courses, minimum age qualification requirement is 17 years and maximum age limit is 22 years.

Application Procedure of Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam

Application form can be collected from the main post offices of Jharkhand by paying the prescribed application fee. Application Fee to apply for JCECE is Rs. 585/-. Reserved category candidates need to pay Rs. 10/- only as application fee. Those who are appearing for both engineering and medical streams must make an additional payment of Rs.50/-. This amount must be paid as Demand Draft or Indian Postal Order favoring ‘Controller of Exams, JCECEB’.  Those who have paid the fee amount can send the filled up application form before the closing date.
