Vivekanand Education Society’s college of Arts Science and Commerce (VESASC) offers numerous graduate and post graduate courses. It offers a two year Master of Commerce Accountancy course. VESASC is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) degree in any stream, including B. Com. (Accounting and Finance) or B.Com.(Banking and Insurance) from the University of Mumbai or any recognized university are eligible to apply for the M Com Accountancy course in VES college of Arts Science and Commerce. Candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) course are also eligible to apply.

Course Details

Admission to the M Com Accountancy course will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. Candidates are required to submit copies of documents like the mark list, caste certificate, eligibility certificate etc as applicable, at the time of admission. The total intake for the M. Com Accountancy course in VESASC is 60.

The M.Com Accountancy course is divided into two parts. Part I and Part II consists of four subjects each. The subjects under Part I are as follows:

  • Business Policy and Strategic Management
  • Economics of Global Trade and Finance
  • Advanced Financial Accountancy
  • Advanced Cost Accounting

The subjects included in Part II are as follows:

  • Research Methodology
  • Advanced Financial Management
  • Advanced Auditing
  • Direct and Indirect Tax

The tuition fee for Part I and Part II is Rs 6000 each. Students are required to remit Rs 1000 as library fee. The examination fee is Rs 600.  A fee of Rs 200 is required to be remitted for admission during both the years of study. The development fee is Rs 500. VESASC also specifies other miscellaneous fees. Students are required to pay Rs 50 each for Id, Library card and towards Students’ Welfare Fund. The magazine fee is Rs 100 and the utility fee is Rs 250.  Students are also required to pay Rs 1500 as computer or internet charges.  All these fees are required to be paid separately for each year of study.

Candidates are also required to remit one time payments. The enrolment/registration fee of Rs 825 is a one-time payment. Students are also required to remit Rs 150 as caution deposit and Rs 250 as Library deposit. Candidates who have completed their under graduation from universities outside the University of Mumbai are required to remit Rs 400 for document verification.
