Details on Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO)
Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO) is conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (annually) for the selection of eligible candidates to 1st year diploma courses. Those who have passed Madhyamik or any other equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physical Science and English as subjects are eligible to apply. JEXPO score can be used to seek admission in reputed polytechnics of West Bengal like Central Calcutta Polytechnic, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Polytechnic, I.C.V Polytechnic and Kingston Polytechnic College.
Eligibility Criteria for Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO)
Eligible candidate must be an Indian citizen who has passed Madhyamik or HSC examination. Required qualification must be obtained either from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or from other equivalent Board/Council. Such candidates must have studied Mathematics, Physical Science and English as subjects under HSC and their age must be below 21 years. SC/ST students can expect 3 year age relaxation in the case.
Exam Pattern for Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO)
Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO) is conducted in objective mode. Questions will be asked from subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Total time allotted for the test is 4 hours (Mathematics — 2 hours, Physics & Chemistry – 2 hours). In total the test carries 200 marks. Maximum marks allotted for the section of Mathematics is 100 and that for Physics and Chemistry is 100.

Application form for JEXPO can be collected from the offices of any of the polytechnics as mentioned above. Application form can be collected by making a cash payment of Rs. 300/-. Filled up application forms must be submitted to the receiving center before deadline date.
