Difference between M.Pharm and MBA (Pharmaceutical)
M.Pharm and MBA (Pharmaceuticals) are the two post graduation course in pharmacy. Both of them have the duration of two years. M.Pharm course focuses on the core subjects in pharmacy. Several types of M.Pharm courses are available on different areas of Pharmacy. MBA (Pharmaceutical) is a management course which focuses on the management of pharmaceutical industry. M.Pharm course is for the candidates who want to widen their knowledge in different areas of pharmacy. Various pharmaceutical companies which recruits MBA graduates are Divis, Ranbaxy, Matrix, Dr.Reddy’s, Aurobindho, Sunpharma and Cipla. Apart from looking for manager jobs, they can also work as lecturers in any institution which offers management courses in pharmacy.
Key differences between M.Pharm and MBA (Pharmaceutical)
- M.Pharm is a major course in pharmacy. It covers the important aspects in pharmacy. Eligibility to join this course is bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- MBA (Pharmaceuticals) is a management course in pharmacy. It only focuses on the administration of pharmaceutical industries. Graduates in any stream can join this course.
Even though both courses focus on the field of pharmacy, each of them deals with various aspects of Pharmacy. Candidates who have completed M.Pharm course can work in the core areas of pharmacy while those have completed MBA can only work in the managerial area of pharmacy. It is better to choose M.Pharm, if the candidates are interested in the research field.
