All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna has invited applications for Staff Nurse and Librarian along with various other job profiles. Candidates having B.Sc (Nursing) or post basic B.Sc (Nursing) degree can apply for the profile of Staff Nurse Grade I. Matriculation is enough to apply for Staff Nurse Grade II. Master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science with 5/8 years of work experience is required for the profile of Librarian Grade I. Applications can be submitted online through the web portal of AIIMS till July 31, 2013. 

Eligibility Criteria for Staff Nurse Grade I

Candidates who have completed B.Sc (Nursing) or post basic B.Sc (Nursing) degree can apply. They should have registered as nurse and midwifery. A minimum of 6 years of work experience is required. In these 6 years of work experience, a minimum of 5 years must be worked in the role of Nurse Grade – II / Staff Nurse (in teaching hospital or tertiary care).

Or

BSc. Nursing Degree/Certificate holders with 6 years of work experience in nursing.  Such candidates should have worked in the role of Nurse Grade – II / Staff Nurse (in teaching hospital or tertiary care) for a minimum period of 5 years.

PG holders in nursing with a minimum of 4 years experience can also apply. Work experience must be obtained with at least 2 years of work experience in nursing service administration / hospital administration.

Apart from basic qualifications, certain desirable qualifications also apply for eligible candidates. Good working knowledge in computers and PG diploma from any of the Government recognized institutions is preferred. PG diploma must be obtained in any of the following subjects.

• Hospital Administration
• Health care management
• Nursing Administration

Maximum age limit specified for the applicant is 40 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Staff Nurse Grade II

Those with a pass certificate in matriculation or equivalent can apply. Male nurses should hold a certification in general nursing and midwifery. Otherwise, they should have registered as ‘A’ grade Nurse and midwife obtained from any of the State Nursing Council. Maximum age limit for applicant should be 30 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Librarian Grade I

Master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent is the required qualification. Computer proficiency with hands on experience in office tools like word, excel, and PowerPoint. Typing speed of the candidate must be 35 words per minute in English. Those with typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi can also apply. Work experience of 5 years in the grade of Librarian Gr.II or 8 years in the profile of Librarian Gr.III is required. It is desirable for candidates to obtain PG degree in Library and Information Science. Upper age limit is 40 years.
