Hello Sir,
Actually I have completed my Diploma in Computer Engineering but now I want to change my branch for degree in B.E. I want to do B.E. in Electrical Engineering. Can I take admission in Electrical Engineering B.E. in 2nd year after completing Diploma in Computer Engineering?
Please reply me, I need your advice.

No, it is not possible to pursue B.E (Electrical Engineering) after completion of your three year Diploma in Computer Engineering. You need to pursue B.Tech/B.E course in same stream in which you have pursued your Diploma course. To get admission in B.Tech course after completion of your three years Diploma course, you need to appear in Lateral Entry examinations like LEET/ECET/JELET examinations which is conducted by your respective state entrance examinations board. By qualifying the entrance examination, based upon your examination rank, you can get admission in second year of four years B.Tech course.

If you have got diploma in computer engineering from a AICTE approved college then you are definitely eligible for lateral entry exam for admission in engineering graduation. Through lateral entry you will get admission in 2nd year of the engineering degree course but admission will be based on your performance in the written exam. You can apply for lateral entry exam of your state for getting admission. In West Bengal there is JELET and similarly there are many entrance exam all over India for lateral admission in B.Tech course.
