Sir, I have completed my diploma in ECE in 2012 after that because of some financial problems I left my studies. Now after 5 years of completion of diploma I want to pursue my further studies and want to join B.Tech 2nd year. Is it possible?

Yes, you can join B.Tech second year even if you have 5 years of gap after completion of your Diploma course. Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering course from a recognised board/ institute are eligible to get lateral entry admission for pursuing B.Tech course. To get lateral entry admission for pursuing B.Tech course, you should have to appear and qualify the lateral entry examinations like LEET, JELET, ECET, etc., which is conducted by your respective state technical board of education. By qualifying the entrance examination and participating in the counselling process, you will be allotted a seat in a particular college for pursuing B.Tech second year.

Its really good to see that are interested to pursue B.Tech course. If you are below 25 years of age then definitely you are eligible to join in B.Tech course 2nd year directly. However, the age limit will differ from university to university. The admission into B.Tech 2nd year course will be done based lateral entry exam conducted by the respective university.
