can i join the marine engineering btech
after mechanical diploma? &what is the eligibility for them?

Candidates who have completed Diploma course can get admission in B.Tech second year through Lateral Entry Process. Eligibility Criteria required to get admission in B.Tech (Marine Engineering) after completion of Diploma course are :-

(i) Candidates should have completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or) Diploma in Marine Engineering from any Institution approved by AICTE with at least 60% marks overall and should have completed the Diploma within the stipulated period of 3 years.

(ii) Candidates should have secured 50% marks in English in 10th Standard or 12th Standard from a recognised board.

(iii) Age Limit :- Candidate should be in between 18-25 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable to reserved category candidates.

Eligibility for b.tech marine engineering :
10+2 with PCM 60% aggregate marks from recognised Boards/Universities. Minimum 50% marks in English at 10+2 or 10th level is a must. Fluency in written and spoken English.

Age :
Not exceeding 25 years on the date of commencement of training. (SUBJECT TO DG’S GUIDELINES AS APPLICABLE)
