Yes, a BE Computer Science 1st year girl student can apply for the Pragati Scholarship Scheme. Pragati Scholarship Scheme is to provide encouragement and support for girl students to pursue technical education and it is implemented by AICTE. Candidates who are admitted to the first year of Diploma or Degree program in any of AICTE approved institute in the current academic year are eligible to apply. The family income of the student must be less than Rs 8 Lakhs per year. There are 4000 Pragati Scholarships are offered to students per year. Selected students can receive tuition fee of Rs 30,000 or actual cost, whichever is less and Rs 2,000 per month for 10 months as incidental each year.
