I am a dental student. I have completed my BDS degree from India. I want to get scholarship in US. What is the criteria?

After the completion of BDS degree, you can join in MDS course or any dental related courses in universities of USA. The chances of getting scholarship from your university, depends on your academic profile. If You have good academic profile, then you can apply for scholarships, which are offered by university. Then the university will process your scholarship application and will offer you scholarship, if you satisfy requirements of scholarship.

The medical schools in USA give scholarship on the following grounds :-

- Excellence in the field of academics.
- Outstanding achievement in extra-curricular field.
- Good score in the entrance exams based on which they take admission.

Apart from this, you can also earn during the internship period as internship opportunities are provided by the medical schools of USA.

The scholarships are given on the basis of your grades or marks. The extra curricular activities also make you eligible for scholarships. Criteria to get scholarship in US dental schools are-

* In your BDS graduation, CGPA should be atleast 3.
* TOEFL and GRE must be cleared with greater than 90% marks.
* After joining the college in US, if your progress is good i.e if you secure first position than also you will be eligible for scholarship.

Based on your performance you can also get a on campus job which would be extra beneficial.
