Re: Eligibility for B.com (hons) in Calcutta University?
To be a part of the B.Com hons. course you must have minimum 55% in your aggregate score of class 12. Now as you might be knowing that Mathematics is an essential part of commerce stream. So you must also score 55% in Mathematics only. That means not only your higher secondary marks should be equal or above 55%, but the marks of the subject Mathematics in your higher secondary individually must be above 55%. Now the more the marks you get, the better chances you have for getting admitted in Calcutta University. The problem here is that quite a number of seats are kept for the reserved quota and for the schedule castes and schedule tribes. So even if you get over their cut-off criteria, you might not get admitted in Calcutta University, just because of the simple fact that rest of the seats are filled by the reserved quota and there is no more place left. So try hard that you score much more than there cut-off criteria.
