How is mining engg. I will be able to get it in 4th or 5th rounds from nit surathkal or any other nit. My aieee rank is 21,457.iam intrested in maths and physics.

Congrates Dear your rank is good in aieee, so you can apply for a good good college
But if you wan to know about Petrolium engineering then its a very good line,
because in it the career is grow day bya day, mean it is a growing organisation, so go for it.

Yes its a great field with great scope and you are getting admission in a well known college which is famous for this course.

So dont worry join it. The salary in this field is really good as this sector is a flourishing field.

are u all right ??? rajiv gandhi's placement are goin too down these days whereas upes already bein better is improving tremendously the next breed of petroleum engineers will defifnitely be from upes only bcoz of their all round developed student......

firstly,I will say ,You must follow your interest.
Petroleum engineering is fast growing field. If you go for that you will have ample job opportunity in this area . you can get job in RIL,ONGC,IOC,HP.
so,pls. decide according to interest.

Good placement depends upon the institute in which you are
studying and also your technical competancy.
Petroleum engineering is a engineering branch taken by few
people in India so there is less competition and there are
lot of jobs with excellent pay packages.
You can get job in companies involved in
exploration, production and exploitation of oil and natural gas.
You can get a job in HPCL, BPCL, ONGC,
Reliance industries, Oil India limited, etc.
They give excellent salaries to freshers also.
