Eligibility
Candidates having a degree from any recognized university can apply for the post of sub-inspector of police.

Selection procedure :Through a series of physical ability tests followed by a written test.

Physical tests include :
A initial 5 kilometer run which should be completed in 25 minutes
A 100 meter sprint which should be completed in 15 seconds.
A long jump in which a candidate should jump a distance of 3.80 meters
A shot put throw which should be thrown a distance of 5.60 meters
A high jump in which a jump of 1.2 meters is required and
An 800 meter run which should be completed in 170seconds

Written test for SI of police consists of papers.
Paper 1: English (Descriptive) : 50 questions, 100 mar
Paper 2: Arithmetic, test of reasoning,Mental ability. : 200 marks
Paper 3: General studies : 200 mark
Age Limit- 20 to 25 years

Age Relaxation-
3 years for OBC
5 years for SC/ST
5 years for candidates who have achieved distinction in sports.

-->candidate should have completed graduation.

-->the candidate have minimum 55% marks aggregate in academics.

-->age limit is 21-25 yrs.

-->selection process:-
-preliminary test.
-main exam
-physical fitness
-certificate verification.

there is a relaxation in marks and age SC/ST candidates.

-->writtten test consists of aptitude and reasoning,general awareness questions and general english questions

hi sir/madam my name is radha from bangalore, i am very much interested to join police force, as i have completed my post graduation what are physical requirements to become SI, ASI and head Constable espsecially for female candidate? please guid me.

hallo sir ... can i get an information on s i qulification..now i am 16 years old and i completed BscHs in mangloor university ( dgree course) is it enough for tha s i selection?

Hello sir am doing my b.e mech 3rd yr my age is 20 iam willing to join as an sub inspctr of police,frm my child hood i had been thinking f t am vry crazy 2 becme a police officer so pls guide me wat should i want 2 do??
