hello....i m a third year student of mechanical branch i have applied for UES and after i clear my interview at what rank i would be posted and even afte after clearing this ,i m not permanent ,so is there another exam that i have to appear for... after i complete my tenure to get permanent,or is it completely based on individuals performance.

SCHEME AND SYLLABUS
Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) is a common test aimed at testing the Basic Engineering knowledge of the candidates applied for Aeronautical Engineering Courses.

EKT has two parts, namely
Part A - General Engineering: 40 Questions Duration: 1 Hour
Part B - Specialist Paper for each Engineering discipline: 35 Questions

Engineering Knowledge Test is pitched at pre-final to final year engineering level. The test consists of two parts viz General Engineering and Specialist subjects for the two streams of Technical Branches i.e Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) and Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical).

The specialised papers are in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Electrical and Instrumentation engineering and Computer Engineering.

The questions are objective type in nature and duration of test is approximately one hour. It is mandatory for the candidates to pass in both General and Specialist papers to qualify for AFSB interview.

The Indian Army Corps of Engineers consists of three major constituents namely Combat Engineers, MES (Military Engineering Service) and Border Roads.

Combat Engineers:-
The main role of combat engineers is to provide mobility to own forces by constructing bridges, tracks and helipads; on the other hand the Corps denies the same to the enemy by creating obstacles such as laying mine-fields and demolition

Military Engineer Service (MES):-
The military engineers are mainly responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of all works, buildings, airfields, dock installations, etc. They are also engaged with additional services such as military roads, water and electricity supply, drainage, refrigeration, furniture, required by the Army, Navy and Air Force in India

Border Roads Organisation:-
The Border Roads Organisation is another major arm of the Defense services which is playing a vital role by constructing national highways, airfields, buildings and bridges. The Border Roads, by constructing a large number of roads in once inaccessible areas of the Himalayas, Rajasthan and North Eastern States have contributed significantly to their economic development

there is a lot of scope if you belong to CIVIL/MECHANICAL stream.

but you clear all your subjects without any single backlog and attain 60%.

just wait for off-campus

this year they are in a search of 9000 graduates.

To Join Armed Forces After Graduation

In order to join the Armed Forces..you can apply for the Combined Defense Services(CDS) Exam

The candidates should satisfy the following criteria in order to appear for the CDS Exam :-

1) You should be a graduate in the Science stream from a recognized college..

2) You should be within the age limit of 19-23 years for appearing in this exam..

Apart from these..you should have good physical health and should have a perfect eyesight and should not be colorblind..

There will be a 300 marks paper with 3 sections carrying equal weightage of 100 marks

The Sections are

English
General Knwledge
Basic Maths

after b.tech\b.e\ you can appear for CDS examination ,through which you can take admission in indian air force (technical,flying,ground duty).
the age limit for this exam is 19-24.
you can also go through UES(UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME),DES(DIRECT ENTRY SCHEME), SSC::SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION :

Through CDS examination one can choose anyone of
Indian Military Academy or
Naval Academy or
Air Force Academy or
Officers Training Academy
But the eligibility criteria is different for different academies.
The educational qualification required for IMA(Indian Military Academy) and OTA(Officers Training Academy) is
Graduation degree or equivalent in any stream from a recognised University .

The educational qualification required for Air Force Academy and Naval Academy is
Graduation degree from a Recognized University
(with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

The age limit is as follow;
IMA:
19-23 years
Naval:
19-22 years
Airforce:
19-23 years
OTA:
19-25 years.

The UPSC notification for CDS examination clearly states the upper and lower limit of
date of birth for different academies. The above mentioned age limit is for guidance
but it would be better if you visit the notification for the exam and then find your
eligibility for it.

Yes you can get job in Defense service by appear CDS exam.CDS stands for Combined Defense Service exam,this exam is held twice in year and exam is conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility for CDS examination:
Educational Qualifications:
For IMA /OTA : A degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.
For Air Force Academy: B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering.
