There are two exams for joining in Indian Army. They are NDA and CDS exam
To apply for NDA exam then requirement is that to complete 12th std and age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.
To apply for CDS exam then requirement is a graduation and age should be between 18 to 24 years.
I can suggest you to do CDS exam and clear it, so that you can enter in to the Indian Army as an officer itself.

NCC certificate is not a compulsion..u just have to be a 12th pass-out within the age limit of 19-24 years..
u can give the entrance exam of IMA or NDA..when u will clear the exam..u will be called for further rounds for selection..
u should be physically fit and should have a perfect eyesight..

You can join indian army without the ncc certificate . only if you should satisfy the eligibility for idnian army examination .

Indian army examination is conducted by the upsc union public service commission of india in every year .

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army

You should be qualified for 12th examination with good percentage of marks in recognized university .

Your age should be 16 1/2 to 19 years .

You should be physically fit for indian army then only your eligible for training .

So you can apply for C.D.S { combined defence service} . You definitely become an indian army officer .

no matter have u NCC or done commerce degree. u can go to Indian army site or look after the employment news where u can get the requirement for different posts. as a graduate u can apply for very good posts such as asst. lieutenant,major etc. u should have physical fitness . u can apply for cds also

Indian army can be join in 2 ways
1. Through NDA
2. Through CDS

Eligibility for NDA
- 12th Pass from a recognized board.
- Age limit - 16.5 to 19 year.

Eligibility for CDS
- Graduation degree from any university
- Age limit
•-> 19 to 24 year - For Indian Military Academy
•-> 19 to 25 year - For Officers Training Academy
•-> 19 to 22 year - For Naval Academy
•-> 19 to 23 year - For Air force Academy

Indian Army - Applications are invited from unmarried male who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and fulfill the eligibility conditions for the grant of permanent commission in the Indian Army.

Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 23 Qualification : 10+2 (PCM) with 70% marks.

Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 23 Age : 16 and half to 19 and half years i.e. born between 01 Jan 1991 and and 01 Jan 1994 (both days inclusive)

Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 23 Physical Standard: min. height 152 cm and weight 42 kg., better eye 6/6 and worst eye 6/18

Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 23 Type of Commission : On successful completion of 4 years of the course cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt. in Arms/Services as per discretion of Indian Army HQ.

Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 23 Pay Scale : Candidates will be entitled to pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 plus Grade Pay Rs.5400 plus MSP and other allowances

you can appear for CDS exam conducted by UPSC

beside this you can also enter in this field through UES.

and in logistic or educational branch of INDIAN ARMY

CDS is the COMBINED DEFANCE SERVICES is the best way for join the indian army.You can appear in CDS as it require only graduation,you can appear in various exams conducted INDIAN ARMY.

yes your eligible for the indian army . NCC certificate is not necessary for indian army without the nnc certificate also you can get job in indian . NCC certificate is only considered as extra qualification . if your satisfied the eligibility criteria . Then you definitely get the job in inidan army .

You have mention that you are doing your graduation in commerce field , and you want to join in Defense , then you can go for it..

For that you have to appear in exams like- CDSE(combined defense service exam)..

Eligibility for CDSE:-

For Indian Military academy:-

*The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade..
*The age should be in between 19-24 years..
*The candidate must be a citizen of India.
*The candidate must be physically fit..
As you are doing your graduation in Commerce field then after completion of graduation you can appear in CDS exam..

For joining Indian army, you do not need to have a NCC certificate.
yes, being a commerce graduate, you can join Indian army. you can appear for CDS. Only graduation is necessary to appear in this exam.

you can join indian army by giving NDA exam conducted by UPSC.
you lost the chance giving it this year but can give in 2012.
it is quite easy.
it held twice a year.
you can submit aplication form for this till 30/1/2012 and will be on 15/4/2012.
after you clear NDA you will be called banglore for 1 week and will give various physical test and a written exam and you also have to fill choice about you intrest .
if you are good in all exams you are given indian air force ,
if you are medium then given indian navy,
if you are just selected then given indian army.
as you wish indian army you can get it easily.
