In order to join CID or CBI Department you need to qualify the UPSC exam or State PCS(Post Graduate course) in Criminology.

CID works for state intelligence and the officials are generally promoted or transferred State Police officers.
As it is governed by State Police so sometimes direct recruitment to CID is possible but that completely depends on vacancy. So, there is no recurrent exam for entry into CID.

ELIGIBILITY:-

The minimum eligibility for it is both undergraduate or Post Graduate courses in Criminology.

CBI conducts recruitment test every year for the post of Sun-Inspector.
The eligibility for that is, you should have a Graduation degree from any government recognized university and age limit is 20-25 years.

The age limit may be relaxed for OBC/SC/ST candidates.

This exam is conducted generally in the month of FEB and the notification comes in the month of OCT which is published in Employment News and national dailies.

you can join cid or cbi after 12th it is possible by joining the police officer frim clearing the UPSC exam.
after graduation you can also join your cbi.

an officer through UPSC or State PCS.

If you want to go for CBI the exam that you should target is SSC Combined graduate level exam and if you manage to clear the exam then you can get a post of Sub inspector in central bureau of investigation.

Eligibility is :-

A candidate must be a graduate
Graduation must be done from a recognized university
Age limit is 20-27
No relaxation to General candidates
Relaxation is given to SC ST and OBC candidate
No minimum percentage limit

Paper pattern :-

Tier I :- 200 questions of 200 marks. Questions from Maths, English, GK and reasoning

Tier II :- 100 Maths question for 200 marks and 200 English question for 200 marks.

If you manage to clear all the two above levels then a mere interview of 100 marks and a physical exam and you will get the job

Physical :-

1600 meter walk in 8 mins
8 km cycling in 30 mins
Chest 77
Height 157.5
expansion of chest is 5 cm
Should not have any defects

The applicant should pass the Bachelor Degree with any stream from any recognized University.

The candidate not required the percentage for this exam.

The candidate age limit is 21 to 25 years.

The upper age relaxation should applicable for other categories.

3 years for OBC & 5 years for Sc\St.

Both male & female candidates are eligible for this exam.

The candidate should be physically & medically fit for this exam.
