I just wants to know Age limit for applying for Government Job?

The normal age limit is 30 years for the general category. There will be relaxations of 3-5 years for the others. But these limits will vary from state to state. Also it depends on the post that is applied for. For the clerical level posts normally the limit is 27-28 years.

There is different age limit for different govt jobs. Like for fresher it can be 30 or 25 and for experienced person it varies. And whenever advertisement given in the newspaper age limit has been specified.

Age limit For Bank clerk :- 21 to 28 and for PO- 21 to 30.

For IAS and IPS :- 21 to 30 (general), The upper age limit will be relaxed
by 3 years for OBC and 5 years sc/st.

For Incom Tex Officer :- 18 to 27 (general),The upper age limit will be
relaxed by 3 years for OBC and 5 years sc/st.

For BSc Nursing:- 17 to 25.

For TGT and PGT:- minimum 21 maximum no upper age limit .

I am 34years. The age limit for the post that I want to apply in state government is 33 years.
I belong to OBC, but the post that has been advertised is for general (UR) category.
can I get the said job in general category but taking the advantage of age relaxation for OBC?

Experience: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification officer level experience in finance and accounts of an academic/research institute of national/international.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on the last date for receiving application.

iii. Administrative Officer :

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 9300 to 34800 & Grade pay Rs. 5400/- per month. Post-

Graduate degree or diploma (under 10+2+3/4+2 scheme) in any subject/LLB. Consistently good academic record.A degree or diploma in management will be an added advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification supervisory experience in a government department or academic/research institution/commercial organization of national/international repute.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on the last date for receiving application.

iv. Stores & Purchase officer :

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 9300 to 34800 & Grade pay Rs. 4200/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : Degree in materials management (under 10+2+3/4 scheme) or any degree with diploma in materials management. For those who have
experience of at least 5 years as Stores In-charge with responsibility of purchase and/or Purchase Officer, in large government departments or public sector establishments, a degree/diploma in materials management is not essential.Consistently good academic record.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of post – qualification supervisory experience in stores and purchase or materials management in a government department or academic/research institution/commercial organization of national / international.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on the last date for receiving application.

v. Junior Engineer :

No of post : 01 post,

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 9300 to 34800 & Grade pay Rs. 4200/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : Degree/diploma (under 10+2+4/3 scheme) in civil engineering or an equivalent professional qualification from a reputed institution, with experience or additional qualification in handling electrical work. Consistently good academic record.Sound knowledge of civil project design and implementation.Having a Post-Graduate degree or diploma in management may be an added advantage.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of post – qualification experience (excluding apprenticeship or training period) in a similar position in government or academic/research/commercial organization of national/international.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 45 years as on the last date for receiving application.

vi. Accountant :

No of post : 01 post,

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 9300 to 34800 & Grade pay Rs. 4200/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : A degree (under 10+2+3 scheme) in commerce or an equivalent professional qualification. Consistently good academic record.Sound knowledge in finance and accounts. Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar position in government or academic/ research/ commercial organization of national/international.

vii. Driver :

No of post : 01 post,

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 5200 to 20200 & Grade pay Rs. 1900/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : 12th standard pass (under 10+2 scheme) with a good understanding ofroutine automobile maintenance requirements. Should have been possessing a valid driving license at least for 4 years and never awarded a suspension of driving license. Should be fluent in Hindi with skills to speak English. Preference will be given to those having higher qualifications, a working knowledge of computers and experience in handling routine office activities.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years as on the last date for receiving application.

viii. Attendant :

No of post : 01 post,

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 4440 to 7440 & Grade pay Rs. 1300/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : 10h standard pass. Preference will be given to those having working knowledge of computers. Should be able to communicate in Hindi and preferably English. Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar position in government or academic/research/commercial organization of national/international repute, with at least 1 year working in the office of senior level executives/ officers.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 40 years as on the last date for receiving application.

ix. Librarian :

No of post : 01 post,

Scale of Pay : Pay band Rs. 5200 to 20200 & Grade pay Rs. 7600/- per month.

Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science (under 10+2+3/4+2 scheme). Consistently good academic record. Ph.D. in relevant area may be an advantage. Experience: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in library of academic / research/ training institute of national/international.

and it varies from state to state.
but in my view may be 29 or 30yrs is need .

Age limit for government jobs:

Usually the age limit in most of the jobs in government sector is 21-30 years.

The age limit differs from one job to another but most of the jobs require this age limit.

Relaxation is there for candidates belonging to reserved category, i.e OBC and SC/ST.

Relaxation is given as under:
1. For OBC candidates: 3 years.
2. For SC/ST candidates: 5 years.

for sc\st have relaxation is 5 year
for obc have relaxation is 3 year

Age limits for Government Jobs :-

The candidate age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.

Relaxation exist as per.Govt rules.
