I have completed B.Ed. from IGNOU. I am 40 year old. I want to apply for goverment job in teaching. Please clear.

You must have to fulfill the age criteria for getting a teaching job in the government schools or colleges.

Here i am providing you complete information about the age limit for teaching job in the government society.

** Age Limit for Post Graduate teachers : 40 years. Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates is allowed.

** Age limit for Trained Graduate Teachers : 35 years. Relaxation of age limit for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.

** Age limit for Primary Teacher : 30 years

** Age limit for Physical Education, Drawing, and Music teacher : 35 years

Age Limit for Post Graduate teachers : 40 years

Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates

** Age limit for Trained Graduate Teachers: 35 years

To apply for teaching job in government school, the candidate should fulfills the following age criteria.

Here are details regarding the age limit for all the category candidates.

AGE CRITERIA :

* For General candidates the age limit is up to 37 years.

* For OBC candidates the age limit is up to 40 years.

* For SC/ ST candidates the age limit is up to 42 years.

The minimum age limit to apply for the government teaching job is 18 years. Candidate who have passed 10+2 can apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test for teaching in the primary colleges of central government.

You have completed bachelor of education and 40 years old then also you can apply for the Teacher Eligibility Test to become teacher in government schools. Now it is compulsory to clear the TET to become teacher in government schools of the state government.

One who wishes to become a teacher in Govt. school has to appear for the TET exam .It is a State level Teacher Eligibility Test which makes a candidate eligible for the government teacher job.

TET Entrance exam is for all graduates who have secured at least 60% marks in their Graduation degree .

Upper age limit for teachers in Government Schools are as under :-

- General category candidate : 37 years .

- OBC candidate : 40 years .

- SC/ST candidates : 42 years .

If you have completed bachelor degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for West Bengal School Service Commission exam.

B.Ed is necessary for School Service Commission exam.

Only Indian citizenship candidate are eligible for this exam.

Your age should be in between 20 to 40 years.

Having completed B.ed course which is needed for applying for teacher job, you are satisfying the needed educational qualification. The candidate need to have completed a degree in education from a recognized university in order to be eligible. These are the criteria's which is needed for applying for the TET exam which stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. The other criteria's which are needed are:

-> Candidate should have a citizenship in India.

-> Age limit needed is 37 years for general category candidate and there are relaxation for other category candidates such as 42 years for SC/ST category candidates and 40 years for OBC.

The TET Exam consists of 2 papers and they are categorized such as Paper I, Paper II.

• Paper I: For candidates who wish to become teacher for classes I-V.
• Paper II: For candidates who wish to become teacher for classes VI-VIII.
• Paper I and II: For candidates who wish to become teacher for Classes I-VIII will have to appear and qualify in both the papers.
