Age limit for CDS and OTA 2015:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

Overview:

• CDS i.e. Combined Defense Services Examination conducted twice every year by UPSC body of India. Notification of the examination comes in the month of March and August for which conduct of Examination will be in the month of August and February.

Educational Qualification::

• For IMA & OTA: Candidate must have degree from recognized University or equivalent
• For Naval Academy: Candidate must have B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.
• For Air Force Academy: Candidate should possess B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

Note:-

• Candidates appearing for the degree or in final year are also eligible to write the CDSE exam. But these candidates have to submit proof of passing at the time of joining any particular entry of the CDS i.e. either IMA or NA or AFA.

Age limits for various entries are::

1. For Indian Military Academy: 19-24 Years
2. For Naval Academy: 19-22 Years
3. For Air Force Academy: 19-23 Years
4. For Officers’ Training Academy: 19-25 Years

Age limit for CDS and OTA 2015

For IMA : 19 to 24 Years
For OTA : 19 to 25 years
For Naval : 19 to 22 years

Apart from the above mentioned age limit for General and OTA CDS age limit relaxation is given to the SC/ST and OBC class.

For OBC candidates :3 years.

For SC/ST candidates: 5 years.

CDS stands for combined defense services where as OTA stands for officer training academy which is one of the wings of CDS .

The examination is conducted by union public service commission twice every year .

Age limit for OTA is 19 years to 25 years .

To appear in this examination you must have your bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university ( final year students can also appear in this examination ) .

Combined Defence Service Examination [CDSE] is a written test consisting of three papers.
It is a test which enables recruitment of officers in the three wings of the defence services, i.e. the Army, Navy and the Airforce.


Educational Qualification:

The education qualification for applying in CDS is as follows:
Male candidates can apply for IMA, AFA, NA and OTA and female candidates can apply only for OTA.

Air Force Academy (AFA): If you are willing to apply for Air force academy should have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level along with a degree from recognized university or bachelor degree in engineering /technology.
Women candidates can not apply for Air force academy.

Indian Military Academy (IMA): If you are willing to apply of Indian military academy through CDS 1 2014 examination should have a degree from recognized university.

Naval Academy (NA): If you are applying for Indian naval academy should have engineering degree from any recognized university or institute.

Officers Training Academy (OTA): All other men candidates as well as women candidates applying for Officers training academy should have a degree to qualify for minimum educational qualification required by UPSC to fill application form of CDS.

Age Limit:

There is no age relaxation for CDS exam.

Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.
