Eligibility:

The candidate must either be:

1. A citizen of India

2. A subject of Bhutan

3. A subject of Nepal

4. A Tibetan refugeewho came over to India before the first July, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

5. A person of Indian origin migrated from outside country with the intention of permanently settling in India


Educational Qualification

1. For IMA and Officer's Training Academy: Degree of recognised University or Equivalent.

2. For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in engineering from a recognised University/Institution.

3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised University(with Physics and Maths at 10=2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.


Age Limit

1. For IMA: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidate born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 1992 and not later than 1st Jan, 1997.

3. For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidate born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 1992 and not later than 1st Jan, 1996.

4. For Officer's Training Aademy(SSC course for men): Male candidates(married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 1991 and not later than 1st Jan, 1997.

Yes, you are eligible for CDS exam. CDS exam doesn't require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services examination. CDS Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission

To enter the Indian Military Academy you need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Air Force Academy you need to get a B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics or a bachelor's degree in engineering/technology and your age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

To enter the Naval Academy you need to have a B.E./B.Tech degree in engineering or technology or a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics and your age should be in between 19 to 22 years.

To enter the Officer's Training Academy you need to complete your graduation in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should be in between 19 to 25 years.

CDSE is conducted by the UPSC twice a year in the month of February and October for the recruitment of officers in the defence forces.

The eligibility criteria for the same is as follows :

* The candidate should be a citizen of India.

* The candidate should be mentally and physically fit.

* The candidate should have done the graduation under the scheme of 10+2+3 at least from a recognized university.

* The minimum age for appearing is 21 years at least.

You can appear in the examination right from the final year of your graduation degree.

UPSC conducts CDS(Combined Defense Services) exam twice in a year for recruitment in different wings of Indian Army.

The eligibility criteria for CDS exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-For CDS exam,the age limit are following:-

Indian Military Academy- 19 years to 24 years

Indian Naval Academy-19 years to 22 years

Indian Air Force Academy-19 years to 23 years

Officer's Training Academy-19 years to 25 years

-The qualification required for

Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy-Graduation in any discipline.

Indian Naval Academy-Bachelor of Engineering.

Indian Air Force Academy-10+2 level degree with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

-The candidate should be physically fit as per the Physical Standards for admission to CDS exam.

-The exam process involves

*Written Exam

*Interview by Services Selection Board.

You are eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy of Indian Army with your graduation in Arts Stream.

CDS exam has following 4 branches.The qualification and age limit are provided as there:

IMA- Indian Military Academy. Graduation from a recognised university from any stream. Age limit 19-24 years.Only males eligible.
OTA- Officer's Training Academy. Graduation from recognised University from any stream. Age limit 19-25years. Both females and males are eligible.

INA- Indian Naval Academy. Graduate degree in engineering.Age limit 19-22years. Only males are eligible.

AFA- Air Force Academy. Graduate in Engineering or Graduate in Science with Physics or Maths as main subject. Age limit 19-23 years. Only males are eligible.

CDS does not asks about marks in Graduation.Pass marks are enough to make you eligible.
