i am doing graduation from calcutta university in 2nd year. i want join in indian defence force for offiser post after my graduation ..
i completed 10th exam with 63% and12th with also 63%

how can i apply and for which post..

Hi,

After graduation various wings of defence are given below.


1- IMA(Indian Military Acadmey) through CDS.


2- Air Force Acadmey through CDS.


3- Naval Acadmey through CDS.


4- Officer Training Acadmey(OTA).

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service examinations which is held by UPSC.

Following criteria is needed to apply for CDS exam.

1) You should be graduated from a recognised university.

2) You should be unmarried candidate.

3) You should be Indian citizen.

4) You should be physically and mentally fit.

5) Age limit is in between 19 to 22 years for Navy, 19 to 23 years

for Air Force, 19 to 24 years for Army.

There are various entry schemes through which you can join Indian Army, Air force or Navy as an officer. If you are doing graduation and not any technical course then you are eligible for the Combined defence service examination which is conducted by the UPSC and AFCAT conducted by the Air force. For technical course doing candidates they are eligible for TGC(Technical Graduate course), SSC(Short Service Commission) as well as CDS and AFCAT entries.

Eligibility for the CDS
For the CDS a candidate should be graduate in any discipline if HE/SHE is applying for the Indian Army. For the Air force and Navy Physics and Maths as a subject up to 10+2 level is must.

Eligibility for TGC/SSC entries
For the TGC and SSC entries a candidate should have a B.E/B.Tech degree with a minimum of 65% marks(cutoff varies every year).
For these entries candidate age should be between 21 to 27 years.
No relaxation in age will be given to the candidate.
