All the informations about age limit required for IES are as follows. age relaxation does'nt mean that you can give exam before becoming 21 years old. it means that you can give the exam after crossing the age limit of 30 years. so you are not eligible for the exam. you must wait for one more year |

Re: Age limit for IAS exam for OBC candidates? Any age relaxation?
Hi,
You have mentioned in the subject about IAS and in the question you have asked about IES. That is really confusing. However, i am providing you details about IES. As clearly stated you must be minimum 21 yrs of age to apply for IES on or before 1st august 2011. Since your d.o.b is 15th august 1990, so under no circumstance you will be 21 on or before 1st august of 2011. SO you are not eligible this year. Age relaxation for 3 years for OBC candidates means that for general category students age limits is upto 30 years which has been relaxed for OBC upto 3 years, which means they appear till the age of 33 years. So you can apply next year and keep trying till the age of 33 years. |

Re: Age limit for IAS exam for OBC candidates? Any age relaxation?
IAS and IES is two different examination. for IAS you have to appear in civil service examination. IES is Indian Engineering Services. both examination is conducted by UPSC. as you are from B.E in Mechanical engineering i think you are talking about IES examination.
for IES examination the age eligibility criterion for this year is For general category candidate should have age between 21 to 30 as on the 1st August, 2011 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August,1981 and not later than 1st August, 1990. there are relaxation in upper age limit for reserved candidate. as you belongs to OBC category so there is relaxation of three years in age but in upper limit. as you have born after 1st August, 1990 so you will not eligible for this year IES examination. try next year positively then you will be eligible for the examination. here i am attaching the notification for IES examination 2011. the submission of application of IES 2011 is already closed. for more information about IES examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in this year the date of IES examination is 14th May, 2011. |

No, you are not eligible to apply this time because as per the notification you will not attain the minimum required age at the time which is given in the notification.
As you are asking about the relaxation that is given only in the maximum age not in the minimum age. So you are not eligible to apply for IAS this time. But you may apply next time . You have five trials left. |

Re: Age limit for IAS exam for OBC candidates? Any age relaxation?
Hello Friend,
IAS is really gud. Here, IAS stands for Indian Administration Services. For these type of civil services competion exam is conducted by UPSC once a year. Eligibilty Criteria: 1. Graduate in any stream from recognied University. 2. Age Limit: For general Category: 21-30 years For OBC: 3 years age relaxation For SCs/STs: 5 years age relaxation Here, age relaxation doesn't mean you can apply before 3 years, it means even you cross the age of 30, you can apply after that also, if you belongs to the categories like OBC, SC, ST. There are so many institutes, which are providing training for the prepration of such type of exams. You can prefer one of the following for coaching: 1. Chanakaya IAS Academy, Delhi 2. Raus IAS Academy, Delhi 3. Vajiram and Ravi IAS Academy, Delhi I wish, this information will be helpful for you, All the very Best. |
