Re: Am I eligible for Accenture, TCS, Wipro and other MNCs having scored 65% in B.Tech, 62% in 12th and 48% in 10th class with a gap of 3 years?
IT industry which means Information Technology hires a large number of Engineering candidates every year. The size of Indian IT industry has reached around $60 Billion largely thanks to companies like
Infosys Wipro HCL TCS Tech Mahindra These companies have played a very major role in the growth of Indian IT Sector. To maintain the momentum, these IT companies hire fresh talent out in India. These companies have set several criteria to hire a Engineering candidate. One of the requirement is at least 65 percent marks in Engineering course. However apart from that the IT companies also pay attention to your 10th and 12th score. Unfortunately I doubt that any MNC would give you job. There are two major reasons for me saying that. Your percentage in 10th is extremely low. At 48 percent it is well below comparing to what some companies require which is generally in the range of 60 to 65 percent. For example companies like Infosys and Wipro requires 65 percent marks throughout the academic career. This means 65 percent marks in 10th, 12th and B.Tech course. Another bigger issue is three years gap in your studies. It is far too much than what companies are willing to bear. Most top IT companies would not accept a candidate who has 2 years gap, but you have 3 years gap which would make it even more difficult for you to get the job. Therefore I am sorry to break this news to you but it is extremely difficult that any MNC would accept you. However it does not mean that you would not get the job. Eventually there are several SMB who would offer you the job but the scope of growth and salary would be much limited in comparison to Infosys, Wipro etc. |

Quote:
Eligibility Criterion For IT Companies The general criterion for selection of candidates to the IT companies is as follows :- >> Candidate must have secured 60% or above as aggregate in 10th,12th and B.Tech till 6th sem (65% if appearing for Infosys) >> Candidate must not have a study gap of more than 1 year (not more than 2 years for TCS and Syntel) >> candidates must not possess any active backlogs at the time of placement drive.. You have not only secured less than 50% in 10th, but you also have a study gap of 3 years.. Both these things make you ineligible for applying for the IT MNCs hence I am really very sorry.. No need to feel disheartened..you need to start your career from a comparatively smaller firm and gain some experience first.. Once you have experience in hand..nobody sees your academic qualifications anymore.. The only thing they look out for is your experience record and your past projects.. all the best With Warm Regards Nitz |
