Am I eligible to appear in UGC-NET if secured 50% in M.Phil(Economics) being an OBC student?


Sir,
I got 50% in M.Phil of Economics.
I want to sit in UGC-NET. I am OBC student.
Kindly let me know I am eligible to give this exam?
Please reply as soon as possible.

No, you are not eligible for UGC NET exam because you masters degree marks is below 55%.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.

UGC NET is national Eligibility Test. This test is for lectureship and Ph.D admissions in Indian institutions. It is conducted nationally twice in a year in offline mode. The conducting body is University Grants Commission.

To apply for UGC NET, you must have done post graduation from any steam in any recognized Indian institution with atleast 55% aggregate marks.

Since , you have only 50% marks, you are not applicable for this examination.

You can appear for state level entrance examinations like PET.
