Whether Post graduation OBC student will get 5% relaxation if secured 50% to appear in UGC-NET?


Dear sir,
I have read in a magazine pratiyogita nirdeshika
that 5% relaxation in post graduation for OBC candidate
& the OBC student who scored 50 % mark in
post graduate can appear in ugc net. is it true?

Sorry to say no relaxation applicable for OBC category students. Relaxation is only applicable for SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates.

National Eligibility Test (NET) and this entrance examination is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC).

Eligibility
  • The applicant must have a post graduation degree in any stream from recognized university.
  • It is compulsory to score at least 55% marks in master degree.
  • In case of reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PH/VH), the marks percentage required is 50%.
  • Those who are in the final year of master degree course may also apply.

Age Criteria
  • The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is not more than 28 years.
  • There are 3 years relaxation for OBC and SC/ST are also eligible for relaxation of 5 years.
  • There is no upper age limit for College Lectureship.
