How can i join in defence, i'm 26years old. I passed 12th exam & now i passed diploma in mechanical engineering & i also trained in ncc. May i apply for defense.......? Can yo please let me know what is the minimal criteria required? please answer me sir

No, there is no chance for you to join in defence which is the highest honor of a citizen to serve the country. The reason behind it, is that for joining in defence there are certain procedure such as you should write the entrance exam for the designated posts and there are many entrance exams which are conducted in India.

Having completed +2 and being 26 years old makes you ineligible for applying as you are not satisfying the criteria's in either cases. The minimum qualification needed for joining in defence is that you should have completed +2 and have 16 1/2 - 19 1/2 years of age.

You will be satisfying the educational qualification, whereas in the other case you will dissatisfy the age limit needed. In the other case if you see there are entrance exams for your age limit but for those exams, a minimum qualification needed is a degree from a recognized university.

So, you are ineligible for joining in defence.

As you have passed 12th exam so you are eligible for " NDA " Examination but the age of your's is very high so based on that you are not eligible for NDA Examination.

With Diploma qualification you are not eligible for " CDS Examination ". To apply for defense sector through CDS you must do " graduation " before that. Being a diploma candidates you have a chance to apply for graduation.

So make your career in a right way you need to complete graduation for it. Through CDS Examination you can go for any of the jobs i below three wings.

<> Indian Air Force

<> Indian Navy

<> Indian Army .

Yes you are eligible for Defence
To join National Defence Academy a must appear in the Entrance exam conduct by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) , New Delhi, Twice Year

Eligibility criteria for UPSC exam:--------

Age limit: As per UPSC Notification
Qualification: 12th class of 10+2 system of Education/Equivalent of Army and with Physics and Maths for AF & NAVY
Marital Status : Unmarried

Sorry, you are not eligible to apply for Defense services as you have crossed the maximum age limit to apply for any wings of Indian Defense Services .

UPSC conducts CDS(Combined Defense Services) exam every year for recruitment in different wings of Indian Army.

The eligibility criteria required to apply for CDS exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The qualification required for

Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy-Graduation in any discipline.

Indian Naval Academy-Bachelor of Engineering.

Indian Air Force Academy-10+2 level degree with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

-The age limit for

Indian Military Academy- 19 years to 24 years

Indian Naval Academy-19 years to 22 years

Indian Air Force Academy-19 years to 23 years

Officer's Training Academy-19 years to 25 years

The Combined Defence Services Examination is conducted twice a year by UPSC for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officer Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air force Academy.

Basic Eligibility for joining Defence

Educational Qualification

1. For Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy : Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

2. For Naval Academy : Bachelor of Engineering.

3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized university with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology.

Age limit:

1. Indian Military Academy: 19-24 years.

2. Air Force Academy: 19-23 years.

3. Naval Academy: 19- 22 years.

4. Officers Training Academy: 19-25 years.

However, age relaxation of 5 years given to SC/ST/OBC categories.

** Male candidate should be unmarried.

So, yes you are eligible for defence exam but only if you belong to SC/ST/OBC category. If you belong to general category then I am sorry to say you are not eligible as I have already mentioned above the maximum age for general category is 25 years not more than that.

I am very sorry to say but you are no longer eligible to apply for this examination because you are already 26 and therefore the age criteria wont match.

CDS eligibility criteria:-

To sit for the CDS examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice every year, the following criteria needs to be satisfied:-

• Naval Academy: You need to have a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics or you can do B.E./B.Tech in engineering or technology.

• Officer's Training Academy: You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

Age Criteria:-

1. Indian Military Academy: 19-24 years.
   
2. Naval Academy: 19-22 years.
   
3. Air Force Academy: 19-23 years.
   
4. Officer's Training Academy: 19-25 years.

Selection Procedure:-

1. Written Examination
2. Intelligence Test
3. Physical Test by SSB

You are not eligible for defense service after completed diploma in mechanical engineering and 26 years old.

You can join defense service after 12th standard through NDA exam.

CDS exam after graduation degree to join defense service.

Either do 12th standard or graduation from a recognized university to join defense service.

I will suggest you to complete graduation first. Your age is 26 years now. It is not possible to write NDA exam. That need 12th to appear.

After Graduation you can apply for various exams through which you can join Indian defence services.

After graduation you can get into indian defence through SSC officer entry scheme.

Through AFCAT exam you can get into Indian Air Force.

Through exams conducted by Indian army time to time for the requirement in Indian Defence services.

Your age is 26 years old and you have completed diploma course so you are not eligible defense sector.

Candidates who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam. Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19 years.

Written examination will be divided into 2 parts-

Mathematics-300 marks.
General ability Test- 600 marks.

Total time duration for 2 papers is 300 min

General Ability Test -

English 200 marks
General Knowledge 400 marks

Hello,

For joining Indian army your age should not be less than 16.5 years and not more than 19 years.

You may apply for JCOs(Junior Commissioned Officer). For this your age should not be less than 21 years and not more 27 years. with 10+2 pass with science and a year cookery Diploma from a recognized Foodcraft institute.
