i am student of b.tech course (cse) and wanna give ias exam , so i want to know that whether i am eligible to give ias exam that will be taken when my 4th year will start or i can only give it next year when my couse is about to end .... plz reply

Graduation is the basic qualification for IAS. There is no problem in attending the exam at the end of 4th year. But to get selected, you need to submit degree certificates at the time of interview. Those who have completed 21 years are only eligible. Those over 30 years of age cannot apply.

To become an IAS officer, you have to give the UPSC Civil Services Exams
This exam is held in three stages-Prelims, Mains and Interview

Eligibilty- Graduation Pass in any Stream.

Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum -30 years
OBC candidates gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

Attempts- 4 for the General Candidates and 7 for the OBC candidates.

So, if you meet the above eligibilty, than you can apply for the UPSC exams.
Regarding Preparations, if you ahve time than you can join a coaching, otrherwise get the study material of the leading IAS coaching Institute like RAU and study at home.
Read one National newspaper and One national Magazine daily

To become an IAS officer a exam is there which is upsc civil services exam.Minimum age for this is 21 years and maximum age should be below 30 years,therefor after persuing your btech you can apply for this exams if you age is between 21 and 30.There is age relaxation for sc/st and obc candidates.you can give this exam only after completing your btech that is four years of you graduation(btech).

Yes, you will be eligible for IAS after passing B.Tech. CSE as the minimum educational qualification for IAS is Graduation in any stream.

IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

There is at least 3 years Bachelor Degree course require in any field for Becoming eligible for applying IAS exam. This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year under the Civil Service Examination.......

There is No any problem for you to apply it being a last year candidate but if you are get selected for interview you have to send your degree certificate in given time.....

Since, You are in B.Tech Computer Engineering you can definitely apply for this exam after completing your degree or being a final year student so, Don't worry start preparing for it........

Civil Service Exam is one of the toughest exam of India Generally conducted in to stages are 1). Preliminary Exam and 2). Main Examination......

I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for I.A.S after passing B.Tech with Computer Science Engineering.

For I.A.S you have to qualify the civil services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.


Age should be in between 21-30 year.
For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 20 Rs.
