Yeah sure you can apply for IAS entrance exam after completing your graduation degree in Computer Science Engineering.

There is a myth that computer science engineers are not allowed in IAS examination there is nothing like that every graduate is eligible for IAS entrance examination.

So with respect to the above statement it means that every engineer is also eligible for the examination .> So in engineering streams there will be CSE so the CSE engineers are also eligible for this examination.

Some of the facts I want to share based on IAS exam and C.S.E students are.
everything in pattern will be same that with other background and disciplines students but only thing is during the selection of optional subjects you(CSE Engineer) have to compromise with the general subject or any other subject because there will be no Computer Science engineering subject in the Engineering department optional set.

you have to select any other engineering subject for optional or you have to completely change the domain of selection to general one and you have to select subjects like Commerce or accounts or Animal Husbandary, or Psychology what ever it may be.

during the optional selection only CSE engineers will some what get irritated due to lack of their core subjects in the list of optional subjects.

other than this one issue every thing is same for exam including interview pattern and maximum marks etc.,

all the best for your preparation.

Any help you need regarding UPSC CSE we are ready to help you..

Regards

Hello friend,
You will be definitely eligible for civil service exam after completion of your engineering in computer science. A graduate in any discipline may apply for the exam provided he/she is within the age limit of 21-30 years.
Now, as per the new format of the exam, candidates belonging to any stream has to wrote and qualify two compulsory papers in the first stage of civil service exam. It is known as civil service aptitude test and comprise of only compulsory papers.
In the second stage, you will have to write both compulsory as well as optional papers and unfortunately, computer science is not among the list of the optional papers.

The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.
