Am I eligible for NET entrance exam? I am 34 years old and a PG


Respected sir/madam,

Am i eligible for NET exams as i am 34 years old and also post graduate (M.COM & M.B.A)? I am confused about it. Please resolve my problem.

Dear Hemant,

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test.

The NET is conducted every year two times in June and December by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

This Test is conducted for the following posts :


a) Lecture Ship

b) Junior Research Fellowship


The Minimum Qualifications That You should have for NET are :

* you must have completed post graduation in any stream from any recognized university.

* you must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in post graduation.

* The Age Limit for JRF is 21-28 years.

* Upper age is relaxable by :

a) 3 years for OBC Candidates.

b) 5 years for SC/ST Candidates.


* There is no age limit for the post of lecture ship.

So , as per your query, you are eligible for the same as per your educational qualifications.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by the University Grants Commission for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship .

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam .

Marks required in Masters degree-

For OBC and General Category = 55% .

For SC/ST Category=50%

The age criteria for NET exam-

For JRF Post= maximum age is 28 years old.
For Lecturership Post= No age criteria .

Age relaxation is provide for reserved category .

From 2012 june NET exams papers are fully objective type with no negative marking .But there is sectional and overall cut off so please prepare all 3 papers equally .

You are eligible for NET, if you meet the following conditions. You must be a master degree holder with a minimum of 55% marks. The qualification must be obtained in either of your master’s degree. There is no specific age limit for NET for lectureship. But in case of Fellowship, the upper age limit is 28 years.

Hai,


NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

University Grants Commission conducting this exam every year twice i.e in the month of july and also december.


Qualification details:-

Those candidates who wants to apply this exam should be complete Master's graduation with atleast 55%of marks from a recognised university of india.

There is a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST candidates.

The candidate must be a citizen of india.


Age criteria details:-

For JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) candidates age limits are 28 years is the maximum age limit but there is no minimum age limit. 3 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.


For Lectureship there is no age limits.

Hi
NET stands for national eligibility test. For appearing in this examination you need to be having a minimum of 55% marks in your post graduation. A relaxation of 5% is given to the sc\st students. And there is no restrictions on the age factor as there is no upper limit for giving the examination. Therefore, you being 34 years of age can give the examination.

Yes, you are eligible for NET Lectureship as there is no upper age limit for it.

NET - National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC for selection of Lectureship and Award to Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Post Graduation in any stream from a recognised University with 55%marks(50% marks for SC/ST candidate). There is no upper age restriction for those applying for Lectureship but the candidate applying for JRF should be within the age of 28 years.

So at the age of 34 years you are eligible for NET Lectureship.

YES, you are eligible to apply for the UGC-NET exams.

NET Exam is conducted for :
Lecturership
Junior Reasearch Fellowship

Since you are 34 years old, so you cannot apply for the JRF, But yes you can apply for the Lecturership.

Next UGC-NET exams will be held in june 2013

Eligibilty to apply:
Post Graduation pass
Minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation for the General and OBC candidates
Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates

There is nothing to be get confused.Here is the solution of your confusion.

NET which stands for the National Eligibility test is the entrance examination conducted by the University grants commission for the post of lectureship and Junior research fellowship twice every year.

The eligibility criteria for this examinations is :

>>Post graduation is the minimum educational requirement for this examination with minimum of 55% for obc and general and 50% for sc/st .As you have completed your post graduation ,so donot worry about educational qualification just ensure that your % of marks is not less than 55%.

I hope you must be confused about age limitations:

The minimum age required to be eligible for this exam is 21 years.

For the Junior research fellowship,the upper age limit is 28 years.For lectureship there is no upper age limit.

So if you are interested in becoming lecturer ,then you apply for the examination.The notification for the June 2013 NET examinations is about to come.

As there is no upper age restriction for those candidate applying for NET Lectureship, you are eligible to apply for the same at the age of 34 years provided you fulfill other eligibility criteria.

NET - National Eligibility Test conducted for selection of Lectureship and award to JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) by UGC two times a year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Post Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognisd University with 55% marks with relaxation of marks up to 5% for SC/ST Candidate, is eligible to apply for NET. There is a restriction of age for those applying for JRF which should be 28 years.

Let me first tell you something about NET exam.

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) for appointment of Lecturers in colleges and universities for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
The main objective of the test is to ensure minimum paradigm for the candidates entering in the noble profession of teaching and research.
NET is held twice a year in the month of June and December in 94 subjects across 74 centres in the country.

As far as the eligibility criteria is concerned,the minimum eligibility to take this test is a master’s degree in the chosen subject with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for ST/ST/PH/VH).

So as you have done your PG and if you have 55% or more in PG,then you can sit for the exam!!!

Dear Hemant,

NET stands for National aptitude test and it is a exam which is conducted every year two times by university grand commission. It is a exam required to be cleared to be eligible for teaching posts in all universities as well as college

Eligibility :-

A post graduation degree is required
minimum 55% marks are required in graduation
age limit is 21-28 for junior Research fellowship
There is no age limit for Lecturer ship
You can get relaxation if you are from reserved category

So dear if you are clearing the eligibility criteria then you are eligible for the course and after that you can apply to any of the university or college as a teacher post.

Pattern of exam :-

There will be 3 Papers in two session and they will be conducted on the same day. Paper will be as given below :-

Paper I :- General awareness, Mental ability and comprehension
Paper II :- Based on the subject selected by the candidate
Paper III :- Based on the subject selected by the candidate

The acronym for NET is National Eligibility Test.

NET examination is conducted by UGC(University Grants Commission) every year in the months of July and December.


NET examination is conducted for the two posts:-


* JRF.

* Lectureship.

The eligibility criteria required for the NET examination are prescribed as below:-

As you have completed your Post Graduation and your age is 34 thus you can only apply for Lectureship Exam through UGC NET.

The Eligibility you will have to fulfilled in order to appear in this exam are :-


Educational qualification :-
-->>You should be Passed out in Post graduation from recognized university.

Marks :-
-->>Your minimum marks in Post Graduation should be 55% if you are from General category/OBC Category.
-->>If you are from SC/ST Category then your minimum marks in P.G Should be 50%.


Exam Pattern :-
There will be 3 sections from which the questions will be asked.
Its Structure is as Follows :-

PAPER I :-

-->>Total number of questions will be 60.
-->>Total duration for this exam will be 1 hours and 20 minutes.

PAPER II :-
