I think Guide to IT Industry Entrance test for TCS of G.K.Publishers is a good option.

But I think it has common publication for all IT Industry entrance exam viz: TCS, Infosys, IBM etc.

However, go to market and ask for that or even some similar kind of books. Books of G.K.Publisher are available in whole India as they are also one of the leading publication for Entrance exams in India.

mathematical questions view

in this we have to see the worst probablity ... that is ... Consider two Max Numbers in this 30,56 ... first time when you are going to take All 56 red socks ... then you are going to take all 30 Yellow socks !! so 86 attempts are over ... So you have taken all the socks except Blue !!.. so now if u r going to take. it will obviously be from blue ... . so just need 2 more chnaces to take a pair ... so (56+30+2)= 88 is answer .

Preparing for CAT is totally different when compared to placements.. It needs lot of homework...

SOME PREPARATION TIPS FOR CAT...

It may be wise to brush up on your exam technique and perhaps become more familiar with the types of test you may face. -> Treat it as you would any other occasion when you visit an employer. Plan your journey to the test site, arrive on time and appropriately dressed. Listen to the instructions you are given and follow them precisely.

-> Work quickly during the test, but pay attention to your accuracy. Try not to get bogged down on any one question, but remember that questions may get harder as you proceed. You can only score points for questions you answer, not for those you don't.

-> Educated guesses are worthwhile. In math's tests you may be able to use the technique of estimating the answer rather than working it out exactly, to save time.

-> If you have a numerical test coming up and haven't done any maths since school then brush up on your numeracy - Stop using a calculator for everyday calculations, practice your multiplication and division, ability to calculate percentages, and to read graphs and tables. For campus placements, R.S Agarwal's quantitaive book and verbal/non-verbal book are more than enough.

For C.A.T its entirely different story and you will have to work very hard and refer many books.
