Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Hello,
It's hard to compare in the two booming carriers such as IT and bank job. IT also has marched it's way to the most attractive sector for todays youth and on the other hand, bank job, on which rank you are, if it's posts like PO or branch manager with attractive salary. Although it's totally depends on you that in which field your interest is. In IT if we discuss about salary package then it comes around 2.5 lack -4 lack per annum or may vary. As well as in bank sector it would be about 2.5 lack-5 lack per annum. Although it may be more than that. But after all it depends on your choice. Ok best of luck. |

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
yes yes i think bank job is better than it job.
In IT job there is no job security and low salary. But in bank job you can get high job security and also good salary. After retirement you can get pension facility if the bank is govt. But in IT job you can't get any type of pension facility. Some upcoming bank exams are given below. rewa sidhi gramin bank(last date to apply-dec 21,2011 written test-jan 29,feb 5,2012) uttaranchal gramin bank(ast date to apply-dec 30,2011 written test-feb 12,19,2012) |

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Never go for Bank job if you already get a start in an IT company...doesn't matter small or big company....most difficult thing in IT sector is the Start..once you get it you will surely get through it..it is just a matter of time...there are huge targets in Banking sector and you have to depend on others...your skills matters to a certain extent. I dont have idea about Private sector Banking but in PSU's its like hell.........

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Well it depends on one's interest. If you are highly interested in IT field and you have a pretty understanding of programming go for IT. You can earn plenty in IT field with growing experience. Bank on the other hand gives you job security, consistent growth, allowances, retirement benefits etc. Both the jobs poses high work pressure though IT has a bit higher.

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
There is no comparison between bank and IT job. There is advantages and disadvantages of every field.
In IT jobs, you can get handsome salary .Bank jobs can also provide good salary but not as good. There is security in Govt. Bank jobs But you can also get IT job in Banks also through Specialist Officer exam(IT) |

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Hi,
Bank job is far better than a IT job, i am not telling it in terms of money or commercially but i am telling in accordance to health.. In case of IT jobs the working hours will be more than jobs in Banks. Also you will have to work for more days in IT companies.. If you think in terms of money opt for IT jobs. If you think of your health then opt for Bank jobs. |

Dear Aspirant, That is a typical question. It depends on the individual opinion. Each one has a different opinion. From my opinion both jobs are the challenging jobs. Each work needs to be taken with a careful and concentration. Where there should be no flaw in the errors. Also the job they get are very challenging tasks. A Bank Worker has to get all the details of the customer and sort it out by no time.Since they are not allowed to take more time on one customer. Coming to the IT officer the work given to them will also be a challenging tasks.Because they need to develop the code for a certain problem. And that should be handled with full attention and concentration. Personally my opinion is to go for the Bank Job since it is cool job with less tensions when compared with the IT job. So i would suggest go for the Bank Job instead of the IT job. Hope this info helps you. All the best for your future endeavor's. Any more Queries. Don't Hesitate to ask me. Am happy to help you always. Just ping to my profile. Best Regards, Sampath. |

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Dear..
You have not stated in your question that about which bank you are talking, See there are various banks in which some are private banks just like HDFC and ICICI where as some are government banks such as SBI and Punjab national Bank. If you compare the bank jobs with IT jobs then there are various things that you have to consider as :- Banking sector is always the highest paying sector in the world and if you look at the placement given to IIM students by some leading Financial companies then you will see that banks are paying millions of rupees of salary to Indian student Other thing is that there are low level jobs also which are not at all good in banks and you have to work really hard to earn little amount of money IT Jobs are always considered as good but there are very few jobs and skills are required to get that job. Also IT jobs needs a continuous updation of the knowledge and that is why it is a tough job. If we talk about Government bank job then they are very good and have good salaries also. Government bank people get loan also that too on a low interest rate and that is why government Bank jobs are always in demand and the best a man can get. The problem in the government bank job is that a person can only get a job if he tries too much as the competition is so much that it is not at all easy to get a job in government banks. Based on these points you can decide which is better for you Hope it will help Cheers...!!! |

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Its not like Bank job is better than IT job and vice versa. Both the jobs will be having their own career scope for the candidates.
Here is the difference between both the jobs. IT job : -Job security may or may not be there in all the companies. -Timely payment of salaries will not be done in some companies. -Hiring and firing is common in the sense as long as you perform well, you will be given good salary and all the benefits will be provided. Once your performance go down, they will ready to fire you. -You can earn a lot compared to Banking field. -You will be given onsite job opportunities if you are from a MNC. -Work pressures and targets will be there for the candidates in many of the companies. -Better choice for the candidates who are having interest in technology side and able to take risks. Bank job : -Will be good for the candidates who are risk free. -One should have strong preparation towards written exam to get a job as there is huge competition for bank jobs. -Salaries will be done on time to time basis. -Compared to IT job, pay scale will be less but the career will be fruitful. -No pressures will be there as long as you do your perfectly. Hope you understand what I discussed. Opt for the career as per your interest. Wish you all the best. |

PO3 is better As far now.. Join in Bank now.. Then look for SSC CGL 2014 Exam or RBI.. this is my opinion.. If you a feel there is onsite opputunity, Continue in CTS itself or else Bank PO is better..

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
Bank job is much, much better than IT job.I used to work at a top IT company but now work at a govt sector bank as officer.I was doing very well in IT, but the high salary proposition in IT is a delusion. There's no such thing.I've seen people work for their lives but have overall not-so-great salaries. To be honest after working at a bank for 2-3 years as officer(PO), you can switch elsewhere with huge, huge salaries..or do your MBA,even. And if you're such a IT nut, you can work in the IT section of the bank as well, instead of finance which is much more advisable for 'higher salaries'.And lets not get too ahead of ourselves, 80-90% work done in Indian IT companies(almost all of which are IT services companies) are low-end support, maintenance and testing stuff which Western MNCs outsource for a lack of workforce who are willing to work at meagre salaries. And I am not gonna even talk about the perks and comforts and respect(and the difficulty to obtain) a good government job, contrary to IT.

Re: Is bank job better than a IT job?
In bank you can get job in clerical as well as PO. so if you are in clerical field then your salary is less but you get more time to do the things while in PO you get high salary but less time for you and your family.
If you want to compare it with IT company then i must tell you that in IT company you do not get time yourself so it depends on you that you want a busy life or a chill life so take decision accordingly. |
