Re: Can a B.Com graduate appear for CLAT for LLB course?
I don't think Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is suitable for a graduate. Therefore I will suggest you against appearing for this entrance exam. Now let me explain why.
Common Law Admission Test is for candidates who have completed 12th standard. There are two type of LLB degrees. First one is integrated LLB course which is also known as BA LLB etc. The duration of this course is 5 years. After clearing Common Law Admission Test, you can take admission for this particular course. However since you have already completed graduation, what is the point of doing so. The integrated course has subjects of graduation course that makes its duration of 5 years. Since you have already completed graduation, it would be better if you apply for the LLB course of 3 years duration. The duration of this course is less because it does not include any other bachelor course. LLB is for candidates who have completed graduation while BA LLB is for 12th standard passed candidates. Therefore in my opinion instead of graduating again, simply apply for the LLB course. The admission for LLB is not given through Common Law Admission Test. Eligibility 1. Any graduation degree makes you eligible for LLB. 2. But should have at least 45 percent marks. 3. SC/ST will be able to take admission if scored minimum of 40 percent marks. 4. Your age should not exceed 30 years. 5. SC/ST candidate should not exceed 35 years. 6. Unfortunately there is no relaxation for OBC. |
