Re: Can a candidate apply for RAS or IPS exam after his marraige?
Defnitely you can apply for UPSC Civil Services Examination and other State Civil
Services examination after marriage if you satisfy other criterion viz; Age criteria, educational qualification, nationality etc. criteria. Many married candidates have qualified Civil Services Examination. Marriage before the age of 21 years is not valid as per laws in India and so it could be a problem but many such candidates too have qualified the exam who were offenders of some crime in past. UPSC doesn't exactly specify that whether those who married before the age of 21 are eligible or not. So, I would suggest you to apply for the exam and fill the application form honestly, i.e. you must mention your marital status MARRIED. If UPSC will have any objection on this then your application will be rejected otherwise accepted. In case you are still in confusion you can contact some UPSC personnal through phone. The telephone directory of UPSC officials is available on UPSC official website. Contact any UPSC personnal who is concerned with Examination. http://upsc.gov.in/ If your candidature is approved in UPSC then it will be approved in State Civil Services too. |
