Re: Can a candidate from B.Tech in CSE be eligible to give UPSC Exam?
Which Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam are you talking about? You should be more specific about the exam you are referring to. Anyway the answer to your question would be that you are eligible to appear in UPSC exams where the educational requirement is either graduation course or B.Tech degree.
For example you are eligible to appear in the Civil Service Examination for IAS or IPS officer. The requirement for Civil Service Examination is graduation course in any stream. B.Tech in Computer Science would also be counted as a graduation degree thus making you eligible for the exam. Eligibility for IAS/IPS >> A candidate should be Indian Citizen. >> A graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. >> Age limit should be 21 to 30 years. >> Age Limit for OBC is - 21 to 33 years. >> Age limit for SC/ST is - 21 to 35 years. However in case where the requirement is not just any graduation course but specific like in the NDA Exam, Drug Inspector exam etc. you would not be eligible to appear in the exams. Eligibility for Drug Inspector >> Graduation degree in Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine. >> Age limit is 21 to 33 years for General. OBC - 21 to 36 years SC/ST - 21 to 38 years As you can see since in drug inspector exam the degree requirement is specific, you would not be able to appear for the exam. Same rule applies for all the other exams. |

Nice to see your interested in the field of the UPSC examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts many examination is every year. As per your question if you completed the B.Tech course in the Computer Science branch then you are eligible to appear in the UPSC examination like IAS, IPS, IFS... and many more.
