Any chance for B.Tech computer science student passouts to apply for IES entrance exam? What is the eligibility criteria for the same?
is there any chance for B.Tech computer science students 2012 passouts to apply for IES exam...?
if yes.. what is the eligibility criteria...? what will be the cutoff for general and other categories..? How to get through the IES exam..? please help me..!! |

Yes. You are eligible to appear for IES Exam in the final year of your B.Tech course in CSE.
IES stands for Indian Engineering Services Exam. This Exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. This Exam is being conducted to recruit the Engineers into the following services of -Mechanical Engineering -Civil Engineering -Electrical Engineering -Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Here is the required eligibility criteria for the candidate to apply for this Exam. Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream. -Candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering course are also eligible to apply for this Exam. Age criteria : -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this Exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. -For the candidates with physical disabilities, relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years. Have a look over the scheme of the exam. The exam will be divided into 2 parts. Part (1) : It consists of 2 sections. -There will be objective questions in the first section and conventional papers in the second section. Part (2) : It is a personality test being conducted for 200 marks. If you are interested to appear for the exam, you can opt for the same. Yes, you can apply for IES being a B.Tech. in Computer Science.
IES-INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE conducted by UPSC for recruitment of Engineers in the top technical post under Central Govt. in the following branches:- MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL CIVIL ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION The candidate must be an Indian National having completed B.Tech. degree in any discipline preferably from the above mentioned branch from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years which the upper age relaxed for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC up to 3 years. The selection is through written test followed by personality test. The written exam is based on the subjects from the IES branches as mentioned above so being a B.Tech. in Computer Science you have to do extra effort to crack the exam. Hai,
Yes b.tech graduates are eligible to apply IES (INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES) which is conducted by the UPSC once in every year. To apply b.tech with following streams for the IES: -Mechanical Engineering -Civil Engineering -Electrical Engineering -Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Eligibility criteria: Candidate should be a graduate from any recognised university of india. Age should be between 21years to 30years. Candidate should be a citizen of india. No.my friend.IES is not available for computer science engineer.It is only conducted for Electrical,EC,Mechanical,civil engineering.

in all answers u told there that all cse branch students can give this examinations but u didn't mention the cse branch in ur branches name.then how can we give paper sir............plz explain

Respected sir you say that btech cse are eligible for ies but why u r not mentioned branch cse this is one sided justice and shameful for cse student plz mentioned cse branch for that great job thank you sir.
