if i am in third year of my BE degree....can i appear for the examination of cds2 to b held in 2011???

CDS exams are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

NO, you cannot appear for CDS-II exam during 3rd year of B.E.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CDS EXAM: -

1. Pass graduation in any subject or in any engineering stream from a regonised institute / university.

2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years.

3. Physical Eligibility - A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

a. Eye Sight = 6/6,
b. Height = 167 cms,
c. Weight: 50 Kg
d. Chest: 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)


NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for CDS Exam.

Yes you can appear for the exam.See the details given below for details of eligiblity criteria for educational qualification.


CDS Educational Qualifications :
1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy-Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering.
3. For Air Force Academy : Degree of Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Graduates with first choice as Army / Navy / Air Force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.

Candidates who are studying in the final year Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg.

You are not eligible to apply for the CDS examination during
3rd year of B.E. To apply for the CDSE examination a candidate

Now your are not eligible to apply for common deffence service (CDS) exam.

Eligibility criteria for CDS exam:

Education qualification- Minimum Engineering graduation in any stream

Age- 21 to 30 years for general category,21 to 33 years for obc category and 21 to till the end for sc/st category

Height-Minimum 157cm

Weight-equal to height

Yes, you can apply but you if at the time of interview you didn't appear with your passing certificate then it will be cancelled.

Because a valuable graduate certificate is compulsory for that.

You cannot appear for CDSE Exam while you are studying in 3rd year because as per its eligibility those who are studying in final year can apply for CDSE exams.

Eligibility criteria-
A candidate should be graduate from a government recognized university.

Those appear in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the CDSE exam.

For CDS examination the candidate must have a graduate degree with any of the stream from any of the recognised university, final year appearing students can also apply for the same.

no you can not appear in CDS(II) examination during your 3rd year study. the eligibility criterion for Combined Defence Services Examination is candidate should have minimum of

the final year student of bachelor of engineering may apply for CDS examination. but third year students are not eligible.

No, you are not eligible to apply for the CDSE now.

For the CDSE the minimum educational requirements states that a candidate must be a graduate in any field.
Candidates in the final year of graduation may also apply.

So as you are only in the third year, so you are not eligible.

However, do not worry.The CDSE is conducted twice every year and you can apply in the final year.

sir i have applies for cdse exam but i am in prefinal year. so will there be any problem in future for applying for cdse as i have applied in prefinal year only?
