CDS i.e Combined Defence Services Examination is a common entrance for all armed forces so it differ from one force to other and i.e

Air Force Academy-->19-23 years

Officers Training Academy(OTA)-->19-25 years

Naval Academy--> 19-22 years

Indian Military Academy(IMA)--> 19-24 years

and yes you are eligible for CDS exam and for all its branches....

age criteria for cds are:

Air Force Academy-->19-23 years

Officers Training Academy(OTA)-->19-25 years

Naval Academy--> 19-22 years

Indian Military Academy(IMA)--> 19-24 years
and you are eligible for ima and ota only.

Hii Shad,

You are a BE student so its a greate change to appear in the CDS exam..
these are different to other exam their is limited percentage criteria ..

The age limit of different defence academy is :

Air Force Application age limit is 19-23 years
OTA Application age limit is 19-25 years
Navy Academy Application age limit is 19-24 years
IMA Application age limit is 19-24 years

The Combined Defense Service Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of candidates in Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air-Force. The eligibility criteria varies as per the defense wing.
Being an engineering graduate, you will be eligible for all the three defense wings.
The eligible age for Indian Army is 19-24 years.
The eligible age for Indian Navy is 19-22 years.
The eligible age for Air-Force is 19-23 years.

Educational Requirement :
1.For I.M.A. and Officers:
Training Academy-Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.

2.For Indian Naval Academy :
Degree in Engineering.

3.For Air Force Academy :
Degree of Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.


Age requirement :

Yours age is 22.5 years and you are a student of B.E. 3rd years. After compliting yours 3rd years you are eligible to apply for CDS i.e. Combined Defence Services Examination on 2012.

You can only eligible to apply CDS of the post
Officers Training Academy, Indian Millitary Academy.

CDS (combined defence services) conducted by UPSC twice in a year.CDS 1st in the month of mid february and CDS 2nd conducts in september every year.
Eligibility criteria to appear in CDS-
*Candidate should be graduate from affiliated university with min. Aggregate 60%, or equivalent in any stream.
*Students in final year are also eligible to appear in exam.
*Age limit-19-23 yr. On 1st july of exam year.

Sorry to say but you are not eligible for CDS as only those who have passed their 3rd
year and appearing in 4th year are eligible .

Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recruit the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

The examination is knocking the door as the notification is coming on 25th September,2011

i)For IMA and OTA you must have any degree from any recognized University.

Elementary Mathematics

ii)Intelligence & Personality test :Generally here checks the Personality of the candidate,GD,group planning, physical fitness test, interview, small lectures on general issues & psychological tests. etc...

You will not be eligible for CDS exam as you are a student of 3rd year engineering.
You can apply for CDS either during the 4th year or completion of engineering degree.

CDS- COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for admission in to:-

Indian Air Force Academy
Indian Officer's Training Academy.

The candidate must be a graduate from recognised University. As you are an engineering student you can also apply for CDS Naval Academy for which you should be 19 to 22 years of age.
