Re: Can I do B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering after passing BSc Physics?
You cannot apply for any of the exams in 2012 since the last date to apply is over. The eligibility criteria for the AIEEE exam conducted in May 2012 are mentioned for your reference. Those whose date of birth is after 1st October' 1987 could apply. Also those who have passed 12th in the year 2009 or thereafter only can apply for the test. There is also a condition that the candidate should not have taken this exam for three consecutive years previously. You will need to check the eligibility criteria for 2013 before applying.

Re: Can I do B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering after passing BSc Physics?
It is possible to pursue Aerospace Engineering after completing B.Sc in Physics. However since you have only completed 12th and have intention of studying Engineering, why are you going for B.Sc in Physics?
It is much better option to apply for B.Tech directly. Going for B.Sc first is only waste of 3 valuable years. You see B.Tech if four years course which can be taken up after completing 12th. What you are suggesting is 3 years of B.Sc followed by 3 years of B.Tech course through lateral entry. I don't see what sense does that make. Therefore my suggestion is that you should go for B.Tech directly and forget about the B.Sc course. Aerospace is one of the most interesting courses in B.Tech. Aerospace deals with flying objects that can pass through the earth's atmosphere. Some examples are satelites, missiles, rocket ship, space shuttle etc. There is very good scope after B.Tech in Aerospace. You can work in space organizations like the ISRO and NASA. You could work for the next moon mission of India at the Mars mission which honorable Prime Minister announced on Independence Day. There are various other satelite projects in ISRO where your expertise would come very handy. Then there is always an option to work for defence companies particularly the ones with expertise in making missiles. A classic example is DRDO which is credited for developing various missile projects like the Agni, Brahmos, Prithvi, Trishool etc. In case you did not appeared for any Engineering entrance exams like AIEEE and IIT-JEE in this year, the best option for you is to wait till next year and apply for ISEET entrance exam. For your kind information ISEET is the exam which is going to replace the AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exam from next year onwards. Here is the eligibility criteria: 1. Candidate should have passed 12th standard with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as the subjects. 2. At least 40 percent marks in 12th are required. However if you have made up your mind for the B.Sc, then you will first have to complete the graduation course. Then apply for B.Tech in Aerospace through lateral entry. The Lateral Entry is given to candidates who have either diploma in Engineering or the B.Sc degree. This would allow you to get admission in B.tech from second year making the Engineering graduation course duration 3 years. The lateral entry admission is given by all colleges except the IITs. The process of admission is different. While some may ask you to appear for entrance exam others would give you direct admission based on your performance. In both case you need at least 50 percent marks in B.Sc. However for direct admission it would be better if you have at least 60 percent marks. |

Re: Can I do B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering after passing BSc Physics?
Sir I have completed diploma in civil engineering from odish after completing my 10th exam. I want to study aerospace engineering in IIT or NIT or any other engineering college. But due to financial problem, I cann't do so. So, I think that I shall take admission in 2 sc with the IIT preparation for aeroapace engineering B.tech course and my elders told me to study B.sc physics for graduation and then go for B.tech course in aerospace engineering. Thus, I want your suggestion from you about my delivers. So, What should I do,now, after completing diploma in Civil engineering? Please reply me as soon as possible because admission date for tomorrow.
