NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam.This exam is conduct twice time in a year.This Exam is Conducted in Month of June and December .

NDA Examination is conducted for admission for the following wings :-Indian Air Force , Indian Army ,Indian Navy . .

Education Qualification:-

Must have 12th standard degree .Final year of 12th degree can apply here.

Age Limit:-

Minimum age is 16.5 years old .
Maximum age is 19 years old.

Your eye-sight is .5 so this fraction is negligible .I think you can easy crossed the medical exam .When you are going for Medical test dont use your glass at that time .

The eye sight criteria for NDA exam is given below-

Eye Standards for Indian Navy and Indian Army:-

1. Uncorrected Without Glass :- 6/9
2. Corrected with glass :- 6/6
3. Limits of Myopia :- -0.75
4. Limits of Hypermetropia :- +1.5
5. Binocular Vision :- III
6. Limits of Color Preception :- I

Eye Standards for Indian Air force Exam :-

1. Minimum Distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other
2. correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia.
3. Colour vision CP-1
4. Hypermetropia: +2.0 D Sph Manifest Myopia: Nil
5. Retinoscopic Myopia: -0.5 in any Meridian permitted
6. Astigmatism: +0.75 D Cyl (within +2.0 D-Max)

Color blind candidate are strongly not eligible but you have some chances for NDA

1. Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Age: Only the Unmarried Male Candidates born not earlier than 2nd January,1995 and not later than 1st July ,1997 are eligible.
3.Sex: only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Yes, you can be eligible for NDA examination if you have scored -0.5 eyesight.


NDA examination is conducted for those contenders who want to join defence sector.


NDA examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice every year in the months of April and August.


The eligibility criteria required for the NDA examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of 12th with PCM from any accredited board.

* Final year contenders are also eligible.

* Age limit:- 16.5-19 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- Not provided.

* Sex:- Male.

* Marital status:- Unmarried or single.

* Nationality:- Indian.
