I can give the total information About the IPS exam..........

IPS means (Indian Police Service)...........

Eligibility...........

Age 21 ---- 30 years (maximum).
SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit.

The student must be a degree holder of any recognized university.

The final year degree students are also applying for the examination.

Who have completed their M.B.B.S.,can also apply

a candidate MUST be a citizens of India,Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan .....

Special Physical Requirements for IPS:

Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women

Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.

Preliminary Examination:


In this have multiple choice questions and this is also a qualifying for second exam.

Main Examination:

In this you have a written exam and an interview.

Indian Police Service exam is conducts through UPSC for this you have to appear CSAT exam , There are certain eligibility criteria for this exam.........

The candidates should be a graduate in any stream from a recognize university , the candidates should be not be less than 20 yrs age and the upper age should not be exceed 30 yrs.There is a upper age relaxation for SC/ST & OBC candidates.

Dear Aspirant,

You can not apply IPS exam directly after completing your 12th standard......

If you are aspiring to become an IPS Officer then you should have to complete first of all your Graduation degree in any stream with at least 55% from recognized Universities.......

Then you have to apply for Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year.......

>> A candidate who have completed their Graduation Degree in any field can apply for Civil Service Exam.....

>> You can also applicable for it during your final year of Graduation.......

Age Limit:

Age of candidate should be between 21 to 30 years for General category. Relaxation is available for OBC +3 years (l.e 21 to 33 years) and for SC/ST +5 years (i.e 21 to 35 years).......

Attempt Limit:

A candidate can apply maximum 4 times for General. OBC candidate can it maximum 7 times and SC/ST category student don't have any attempt limit.....

NO, you cannot apply for IPS exam only with apssing class 12th.

You need to be graduate to apply for it.

The exam for IPS is conducted by UPSC- Union Public service commission and it is called CSAT - Civil Services Aptitude Test.

Eligibility criteria for CSAT-

1. Candidate should be of Indian origin.

2- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

3- Age - 21-30 years.

Yes you can apply for IPS but after doing gradation.

Sorry 12th pass are not eligible for IPS exam . You have to be Graduate in any discipline to apply for IPS exam.

So complete your graduation and apply for IAS/IPS exam if you want to become a IPS officer.

IAS/IPS exam is conducted by UPSC and you can apply for this exam through their website when the notifications are announced.

The age limit for IAS/IPS exam is 21 to 30 years if you are general category candidate.

5 years of age relaxation is available for SC/ST , 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PH.

Number of attempts are 4 for general, 7 for OBC and unlimited for SC/ST.

Because, minimum educational qualification required for become a IPS officer is any bachelor of degree

because if you want to become a IPS then you must have to be a graduate.
only after that you can apply for that specific position .
