NOTE:
If you whant to join MERCHANT NAVY then complete any degree from AICTEE certified collage with a percentage of 55 then you will have a scope to enter into merchant navy in your interested field

Yes, you can apply for joining Merchant Navy but only 10+2 science in PCM is not the only demand for joining Merchant Navy. For it, you should also fulfill some other eligibility criteria for joining Merchant navy. So I have put here the eligibility criteria for it.


Educational qualification: The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness.

Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.

Yes, my friend after completion of 12th in PCM with 45% marks you can apply for merchant navy course..

You can join merchant navy as deck cadet...

But if you join merchant navy after completion of B.tech/BE course in fields like-Electrical/Electronics/mechanical engineering then you have to join merchant navy as engine cadet/fifth engineer/junior engineer..

So, don't worry, just go for it, you are surely eligible..

Those students who have passed the 12th class with the PCM and with the 60% marks are eligible to apply so you have very less marks in 12th class so you are not eligible to apply for the Merchant Navy. Here I will suggest you to do again 12th class because with your these marls you will not be eligible to any field so if you want to make the bright career then you have to bring 60% marks in your 12th class.

There is no marks criteria ,those candidate have completed 12th with science stream are applicable for Merchant Navy exam.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy course

1. Unmarried male and female candidate are eligible .
2. Candidates passing 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics are eligible for Merchant Navy course.
3. Age requirement is not more than 20 years.
4. SC/ST Students 25 years is maximum age , these categories are given relaxation of five years.

Physical Eligibility For joining Merchant navy as Deck Cadet are as follows: -

A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

1. Eye Sight = 6/6,

4. Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

no friend you can not join merchant navy having passed with science with only 45% marks in PCM .

to join navy on the 12th basis you must have secured at least 60% marks in PCM .

It is possible to apply for job in Merchant Navy for you. However you have two options here.

1. Apply for the deck cadet job. For which your qualification is sufficient enough. You simply have to apply in companies and upon selection undergo 3 months long pre sea course.

2. You can continue with studies and apply for either Nautical Science course or the Marine Engineering. The benefit will be officer level jobs that will pay well and include additional perks.

If you decides to choose the second option. Here is the criteria you will need to meet.


Eligibility

1. Must have passed 12th with PCM.

2. Age should not be more than 20 years.

3. However SC/ST can apply till 25 years.

4. Only unmarried candidates are selected.

5. Must be physically fit to withstand sea. Some criteria will include 6/6 vision with no color/night blindness.


Apart from B.Sc Nautical Science and Marine Engineering there are other courses as well.

You can complete B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Technology and yet apply for the officer level jobs in Merchant Navy. However it would be necessary to go through 9 months long pre sea course in Marine Engineering from MERI.

I am sorry to say that after passing 12th with Science stream with 45% marks you are not eligible for Merchant Navy.

For joining Merchant Navy you have to get minimum 50% marks in 12th class.

If you want you can join Indian Navy after passing 12th with 45% marks.

Sorry to give you the bad news about it. But this is totally impossible to join the Merchant Navy with only 45% marks.

These marks are not enough for it. So please if you really want to go for Merchant Navy then do your grade 12 again with some good and reasonable marks atleast more than 50%. Because that's the criteria for every admission even in the different field.

Or you have one more option, i.e. the CDA entrance exam which can be given after completion of your graduation.

This is only the one way, but you can't do your graduation like in the top most college because of your marks but it saves your time and one year of your life.

So, I will suggest to go for any graduation like in B.Sc or any graduation with maths so that you will become an eligible candidate for Merchant Navy.

Don't feel bad. It happens in everyone's life. These are the usual things that happen in life but you must be a good decision maker so that you can handle them well.

Indian Navy recruits at two levels namely at the 10+2 level and the graduation level.
For a job in Indian Navy ,the candidate should have completed his 12th in science stream with PCM background with at least 50 percent marks.
As you don't have the sufficient marks ,you are not eligible for the exam.
