Yes it is possible to pursue law course after completing 12th standard. Earlier to pursue LLB, one needed to have graduation degree. But things have changed now. You can pursue BA LLB course which is 5 years in duration after completing 12th standard.

Firstly I would like to assure you that there is no difference between LLB and BA LLB course. They hold same value if applying for the job. The only difference is that LLB is a 3 years long course while BA LLB is 5 years long course.

The reason being that BA LLB includes a graduation subject therefore candidates are no longer required to complete graduation to apply for law course. BA LLB can be taken after completing 12th standard. But to do so you will first have to appear for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

Eligibility

1. Your age should not be more than 20 years.

2. Age limit for SC/ST is 22 years.

3. You must complete 12th standard to appear for CLAT.

4. At least 50 percent marks are required in 12th board.

5. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks.

CLAT SYLLABUS

Elementary Mathematics

General English

General Knowledge

Current Affairs

Legal Aptitude

Logical Reasoning

It is not mandatory to appear for CLAT entrance exam. You have the option to appear for some other Law entrance exam. Some examples are:

KLEE

National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Entrance Test

LSAT

Christ University Law Entrance Test

NALSAR Entrance Test
