No, its not possible to appear whilst pursing B.Tech. You can apply for the exam after graduation. You need to submit certificates of graduation at the time of interview. After completing the course, you can apply for Specialist Officer jobs. P.O/Clerical post is also applicable.

Dear, you cannot appear in any bank exams whether conducted by private, public or government bank. For various post you need to fulfill the required eligibility. For writing any bank exam you need to have the following eligibility-

>Candidate must hold degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification.
>Must be a citizen of India.
>In case clerk post, candidate need to have proficiency in the official state/UT for which candidate applying.
>Candidate must posses computer knowledge/Diploma.
>Age limit varies from post to post.

So, at present you cannot apply and need to complete your B.Tech to be eligible to appear in any bank exam.

After Completing your Engineering Graduation you can apply for Bank Examinations.

As you are in just 3rd year you are not eligible at present so if you want to apply for Bank Exam then you have to wait till your completion.

In the application form your Graduation percentage will be asked to fill so it is necessary to complete your graduation.

As you are a Graduation in Engineering hence you will be also eligible for Specialist officer post and also for Clerical and PO.

Age Limit for Bank Exams:

For Bank Clerk- 18 to 28 years

For Bank PO - 21 to 30 years

For Specialist Officer - 21 to 35 years

The above age is for General Category and relaxation will be there for SC/ST, OBC , PWD and Ex servicemen Categories.

Selection Procedure:

-Objective Type Paper

-Interview

Paper will have negative marking for wrong answers and section wise cut off will be there .Only those who pass paper are will be eligible for Interview.

There are two types of banking exam which one can apply after 10th/12th/Graduation.

Bank Clerical exam can be applied by those candidate who have either completed 10th with 60% marks or have completed 12th with 50% marks in any stream from a recognised Board or have completed Graduation in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 18 to 28 years.

AND

Bank P.O. exam can only be applied by those candidate who have completed Graduation Degree exam in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years.

So while studying B.Tech. IT 3rd year it is not possible to apply for bank P.O. exam but you can apply for bank clerical exam on the basis of qualification in 10th/12th.

Hi,

No, you cannot apply for bank exams while you are in B.tech 3rd year. you can apply when you will be in 4th year/ final year of B.Tech

As per eligibility criteria for IBPS -

A graduate from a recognised university or a final year appearing candidate can apply for IBPS exams.

The age of candidate should be between 20 to 30 years.

So, you can apply when you will be in the final year of your bachelor's degree.

Hello there !!

for sitting in the Banking exam first of all you need to complete your graduation.

since, when you will be sitting in the baking interview you will be
asked for your graduation degree and presently you are in the 3rd year,so
according to my knowledge you are not having the graduation degree.

so,i am really sorry to say to say that presently you are not eligible to
sit for banking.

hope i am clear to you.
thanks for posting in EALP.

Yeah, you can write bank exams during your 3rd year, but you have to produce your proof of certificate, at the time of joining. The thing is that it is eligible for you, but it is better you apply in 4th year so that it is easy to produce the certificate.

You can also apply for many bank exams like:

SBI PO.

Bank Clerks or Probationary Clerks.

IBPS Specialist Officer recruitment 2013.

South Malabar Gramin Bank Recruitment 2013.

AXIS BANK.

ICICI Bank PO Recruitment 2013

Here are some of the eligibility for IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment 2013:

>> For Law Officer & IT Officer post – you should have minimum Age of 21 yrs.
>> For Specialist Officer post –must be 20 yrs to 35 yrs.

Here i have attached some of the sample papers for IBPS, prepare well.

I am curious why do you want to do banking job after completing engineering? I will not recommend it unless you have had several backlogs till now and your overall percentage is not good.

Otherwise you can claim far better jobs after completing your Engineering course. Therefore think about the decision once again before applying for the banking sector jobs. I don't think it is necessarily the right step for you.

Now to answer your question, it is impossible to appear for banking exams before completing the course. You will have to complete B.Tech to appear for any entrance exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Service.

There are two major entrance exams conducted by the IBPS. These exams are:

IBPS Clerk

IBPS Bank PO

Once completed the B.Tech you can appear for any of the two, but it would not be good for engineering to apply for the Clerk job therefore I will recommend Bank PO entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria

1. You should be Indian citizen.

2. Any graduation degree is enough including B.Tech.

3. You don't need to maintain any minimum percentage.

4. The age limit is 20 on the lower side and 30 on the higher side.

5. OBC candidates are given 3 years relaxation as per govt rules.

6. Similarly SC and ST are given 5 years relaxation.
