No, its not possible to appear whilst pursing B.Tech. You can apply for the exam after graduation. You need to submit certificates of graduation at the time of interview. After completing the course, you can apply for Specialist Officer jobs. P.O/Clerical post is also applicable.

Re: Can I write Banking exam while studying B.Tech IT 3rd year
There are two types of banking exam which one can apply after 10th/12th/Graduation.
Bank Clerical exam can be applied by those candidate who have either completed 10th with 60% marks or have completed 12th with 50% marks in any stream from a recognised Board or have completed Graduation in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 18 to 28 years. AND Bank P.O. exam can only be applied by those candidate who have completed Graduation Degree exam in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years. So while studying B.Tech. IT 3rd year it is not possible to apply for bank P.O. exam but you can apply for bank clerical exam on the basis of qualification in 10th/12th. |

Re: Can I write Banking exam while studying B.Tech IT 3rd year
I am curious why do you want to do banking job after completing engineering? I will not recommend it unless you have had several backlogs till now and your overall percentage is not good.
Otherwise you can claim far better jobs after completing your Engineering course. Therefore think about the decision once again before applying for the banking sector jobs. I don't think it is necessarily the right step for you. Now to answer your question, it is impossible to appear for banking exams before completing the course. You will have to complete B.Tech to appear for any entrance exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Service. There are two major entrance exams conducted by the IBPS. These exams are: IBPS Clerk IBPS Bank PO Once completed the B.Tech you can appear for any of the two, but it would not be good for engineering to apply for the Clerk job therefore I will recommend Bank PO entrance exam. Eligibility Criteria 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. Any graduation degree is enough including B.Tech. 3. You don't need to maintain any minimum percentage. 4. The age limit is 20 on the lower side and 30 on the higher side. 5. OBC candidates are given 3 years relaxation as per govt rules. 6. Similarly SC and ST are given 5 years relaxation. |
