Yes of course,you are eligible to apply for NDA examination.

Information about NDA examination :-

NDA examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Twice in a year as namely NDA I and NDA II.This examination is conducted for recruitment to the different course in NDA examination like Army wings,Navy wings and Air force course.

To apply for Army wings,then you need to completed Intermediate(12th) examination in Science or commerce from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.

To apply Navy wings or Air force wings,then you have to completed 12th examination with physics and mathematics from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.

You must have attained the age of 16.5 years and must have not attained the age of 19 years and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for NDA examination.

Those in the 12th examination can also eligible to apply for NDA examination.

There is no percentage bar required to apply for NDA examination.

Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy examination.

There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for apply to NDA.

NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

One Indian unmarried male within the age of 16.5 years to 19 years of age having completed 10+2 with or without Science is eligible to apply for NDA. The final 10+2 appearing students are also eligible to apply for NDA.

The candidate with 10+2 having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply for all three wings of NDA but candidate with 10+2 without Science subject can only be eligible for Indian Army.

Dear friends
Off course you are eligible to fill the form and give the examination of NDA.
according to Union Public Service Commission Twice in a year as namely NDA I and NDA II.
Candidate must be completed 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math.)
Candidate must be unmarried.
The age of candidate must be 16.5 and not more than 19 years.
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy examination.

As you may know that NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. Its is basically an entrance examination which is organized and conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for the recruitment of Class 1 officers in the wings of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.


If you wish to apply for this exam, then you must satisfy the following :

• The Science streamed students may apply for any of the three wings in NDA, but the Commerce students can only apply for the Army.

• One should have completed class 12th from a recognized school or state board.

• The age of the candidate should be between 16.5 to 19 years in the year of applying.

• As such no percentage criteria is notified in the Latest NDA notification. So just a 12th pass student can also apply for this.

• Physical fitness is a must.

The Notification for the NDA has been released very recently on their website. I am uploading the same. Please download and refer for your use.

The deadline to apply for this exam is 30th January 2012.

Yes you are eligible to apply for NDA.
to appear for NDA exam one should pass 12th or equivalent from any recognised board but there is no restriction on the required percentage.
if you want to go for NAVY or Airforce but should have Maths and Physics in 12th
for army wing there is no restriction on subjects in 12.

Age limit 16.5 to 19 years


A candidate has to go through three stages :

Written examination conducted by UPSC
Interview by SSB to test officer potentialities
Medical Test by a Service Medical Board.

Scheme of the Examination

Papers will be objective type. Medium of examination is English only.

Syllabus for Entrance Examination
Paper I - Mathematics : (Maximum Marks 300)
Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.
Paper II - General Ability
Part A - English (Maximum Marks 200)
Part B - General Knowledge (Maximum Marks 400)

APPLICATION FORM are published by the UPSC at interval of six months,
i.e. April / May and October / November in all the local newspapers and Employment News.
