Yes you can apply for NDA exam after completing 12th class. All those candidates who have cleared 12th class or appearing in 12th class can give the NDA entrance exam. NDA stands for National Defense Academy. NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. UPSC conducts this exam two times in a year. The NDA exam is named as NDA-I and NDA- II. Generally NDA exam is conducted in the months of December and June.

Wings in NDA:-

>> Indian Army,
>> Indian Air Force,
>> Indian Navy.

In order to get selected in any one of the following wing you have to appear in NDA entrance exam. For appearing in NDA entrance exam you should have to follow following requirements and eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:-

1)- You should be the citizen of India.
2)- You should have completed 12th class with science stream from a recognized board.
3)- Your marks in 12th should not be less than 60%.
4)- You should have Mathematics in 12th as compulsory subject.
5)- Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.
6)- There is no age relaxation for reserved category candidates.

Physical Requirements:-





Selection Procedure:-

1)- Written exam,
2)- Personal Interview
3)- Physical test+ Medical test.

Those candidates who will qualify written exam, they will called for SSB which is of 5 days. In SSB you will pass through various interviews, group discussion, and various physical and medical tests.

Before completing 12th standard you cannot give for the NDA exam.

The eligibility criteria for NDA exam is as follows:

The candidate must be a citizen of India

The candidate appearing in the 12th standard can also apply for the exam.

In case of applying for Army Wing of NDA, you need to pass 12th standard from a recognized board or a university

For Air force and Naval Wings you need to pass 12th with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a recognized board or university.

Yes you can appear for the examination even if you are still a class 12th or equivalent student.In this case the required documents as a proof of your having passed the exam can be submitted later...and this submission is only acceptible till a particular date which is prescribed by the committee.No delay in submission post the given date is entertained and you are immediately disqualified.
Also you cannot appear for the entrance just in case you are in class 11th.

Yes of course you can give NDA just after your 12th. It is mainly for 12th passed students only.Through NDA exam following defense forces takes candidates for their training. They are:

1. Indian army
2. Navy
3. Indian airforce

Eligibility:

1. Age: 16 to 19 years.
2. 12th passed in any subject for army and 12th with maths and physics for navy and air force.
3. You have to be single.

After qualifying this exam you will be called for training which will be 3 years at NDA and 1 year at IMA.

YES, NDA exams can only be given after passing class 12th.
Even 12th class appearing candidates can apply

This is a very good question to ask as you would only get a positive reply for this..YES SURE YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE NDA being in your Class 12th appearing. This is because of some reasons.

At first I would say that when you are studying your class 12th then you would be solely focusing on your board exams. You would be thoroughly revising your course and chapters so that you can score the maximum in your board exams. Now the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts this exam in the months of April i.e after the board exams are concluded and once in August i.e after the results are declared for the board exams.

So the application process starts in December of every year, so being in Class 12th you can apply for this and once you finish with your board exams, immediately after that you can sit for the exam. This consists of sections i.e Maths and General Ability. Maths is of 300 marks and GA is of 600 marks so the total paper would be of 900 marks.

The NDA I 2013 application has already opened its process and you also can apply for this exam even if you are in your Class 12th right now..Also I must tell you the Eligibility criteria says the following :-

->> Unmarried Male Indian
->> Class 12th appearing or passes
->> Age between 16.5 to 19 years
->> Physically and Mentally fit
->> Science candidate can apply for ALL 3 wings of Defense, but the Commerce and Arts students can ONLY apply for the ARMY.

So you can apply for this exam this year also, as well as the next year.
